Guest
VINCE MCMAHON IS SET TO CHANGE A LOT ABOUT NXT Vince McMahon is in another war, but this time its with AEW. The new Wednesday Night War is going to take a lot out of fans, but it will also likely change a lot about NXT. Dave Meltzer addressed the change that is bound to come for NXT during Wrestling Observer Radio. Because if Vince McMahon has another show on the USA Network then theres no way hes staying away from it. It also means that no matter what that everyone who also thinks that Vince McMahon isnt going to get involved you know like, its on the USA Network. Vince is not going to be hands-off on a show on the USA Network. Perhaps the last set of NXT television tapings were the final set of tapings without Vince McMahons creative control. You can check those out here. Things could be changing a lot for NXT down the line, but well probably know Vince McMahons influence when we see it in NXT soon enough since fans are well aware of his booking strategy at this point. King RyderFan
So, you're 73 years old and are already overtaxed with running two wrestling shows a week, do you: A: Take a step back, and let other, younger people handle things B; Take on the responsibility for a third show AND a brand new football league? King Nova
Well it was a good run while it lasted. Wonder how HHH feels about Vince taking over (no pun intended) NXT almost completely.
BestInTheWorld614
I still think HHH will have the position of NXT like Heyman and Bischoff have for Raw and Smackdown just now Vince will have more say in NXT compared to not really watching it now
St★rstruck
I know it's really *censored*ing easy to assume that NXT is gonna turn in to a shit-show because of Vince having some sort of control, but I'll try being optimistic about it and not jump the gun so quick by thinking NXT will be ruined or that Vince will purposely sabotage any and all NXT talent for some reason. PaperThinWalls
He's not purposely sabotaging anything. It's just the way he is. His tastes and ideas typically suck. Honestly I think it's best to have doubts and low expectations just so when it does happen you're either not completely shattered or you actually like it more than you had thought because your expectations were so low. AONO.
Tbh, I'm more worried about it being a live 2 hour show than suddenly "Vince being hands on" about it. Because with NXT suddenly being a 2 hour live show changes A LOT. I mean, sure, it's not like just whoever would be on weekly shows, but you could still see people who are green just to put them there for a bit to see how they handle it. Will that change? Possibly. It doesn't necesseraly mean that writting will be different or that booking will be that different, but... will t still be a kind of a developmental brand? Kinda, I guess. I think that they will try to keep that identity, that even if that will be live tv now, "main roster" will still be more prestigious. If they keep the writers, directors and the production team the same, I don't think it will suffer from any major changes in that department. But what I don't get is... I thought that NXT would be a good draw for the WWE Network? I mean sure, I don't think it's a major and main selling point, but it's one of at least? With all that being said... yes I'm skeptical also. BUT.... I saw that once the "reports" started on how Heyman took ever his new role, suddenly, RAW was starting to get "good". Like sure, you could see some smaller changes in booking and maybe some segments... but when you think about it, can you actually pin point and explain what parts of the show are now somehow so much better since Heyman is the executive producer? I don't want this to be some kind of rant, and I agree that RAW feels like it's a tiny bit paced differently, but it's still a chore to get though it... it's still the same show. It's just that now some highlights are more enjoyable to watch tbh. RAW sometimes seems well structured, and sometimes all over the place, and it had episodes like that even before Heyman became an executive producer. I mean... it's been going for 26 years, and for the last 7 years it's a weekly 3 hour show... I mean, I really don't expect it to be a well structured captivating episode every week.... I'll bet that SD LIve will somehow get better when reports come out that Bischoff has officially started on his new position. The point is, I can totally see how people won't enjoying NXT that much anymore because they have read that Vince is having a "hands on approach about it". All I'm saying is... you can really see a pattern in all of it.

Youssef
NXT was actually the best thing for me in WWE for the last 4-5 years. Now Vince is gonna rewrite every episode on the day of the show probably as he does with Raw and mostly Smackdown.
Bushy.
Man Myles vs Grimes underwhelmed the *Censored* out of me. I know this isnt PWG but they couldve had a way better match. Felt like they were just doing moves at a slow pace. Even if they got 10 minutes I know they couldve tore the house down smh Shroudve been Swerve vs Garza instead. The Nerd
I want to root for AEW so bad because an alternative is lovely. But sometimes the smugness and arrogance just makes me laugh. You guys indeed shouldn't be scared. They should continue to focus on making AEW the best it can be. But we're not going to act like NXT's not the better product. Every live show after Double Or Nothing has been lackluster imo outside of some spots and moments. And it's ok because they're still a new company. But them production issues and shit, whew. Focus on that. I also don't feel Vince is going to be as hands on with NXT as people are assuming. I just don't want his input on it at all. JoeShmoee
Im just hoping things stay relatively the same and for the love of god, if theres one thing Vince doesnt do, please leave the PPVs like they are. No need to add any more, thats one thing NXT definitely excels on.

PaperThinWalls
The main things I can imagine changing in the future if Vince is at all involved is the presentation (brighter lighting, faster cutting, jerky camerawork) and less continuity. I pray they stay far away from how matches are produced, but if you start noticing more rest holds and a slower pace, youll know what happened... Bushy.
Lol fair point guys. I seriously just hope the feel of the show doesnt start to feel like RAW or SD, hell even 205 Live. Theres something about NXT that just feels, different. Even by default its gonna feel different though because the show is gonna be 2 hours long. Jmerc
I honestly think NXT could benefit from an extra hour or so. The roster is so stacked and an extra hour will let us see more of it. Plus maybe they can include the Cruiserweight Championship on the show as well as the Women's Tag Titles (like originally teased).
St★rstruck
I see more good things coming from NXT going to USA more than anything else, but it seems like people's main concern is the fact that Vince will have a role in NXT's direction. I'm not even gonna pretend like NXT hasn't been somewhat dull here lately, anyways.
