Jmerc Posted October 26, 2014 Report Share Posted October 26, 2014 According to Reddit user MetsFan4Ever, a former WWE employee who has broken several WWE stories in the past, WWE is planning to drop the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. He wrote the following on Friday: "Word going around backstage this past Tuesday at the SmackDown tapings are that the WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view will be no more. The early lead names going around to replace the Elimination Chamber name will be either WWE Fast Lane or WWE Fast Track." "The reason is because there is only one WWE / World Champion right now. So they want to stay with the Rumble winner receiving the shot and have no Chamber even with the title holder in the match." The Chamber PPV was one of the very few PPV events themed after a match, that I felt had a right to be centered around their respective gimmick matches. (The other being the Royal Rumble). Their reasoning makes sense but it's not THAT crucial, really. The chamber is a VERY special matchtype. There's nothing about it that seems like it's easy to set up and the whole structure just screams special event to me, so I'd really rather they keep it as a special event, rather than have it be used "when it calls for it". They should rather get rid of HIAC, TLC and what not because these actually are useful stipulations for intense/special feuds that also don't seem too outlandish. Like the first 3 times when Bischoff dropped the bombshell that they were happening rather than just having it as a yearly thing. Those moments are amazing. Just call the PPV No Way Out for God's sake. Praying the main event for those PPV's are a 50 lap F1 race for the WWE title. Pffffffffffffffftt.
