OOC: After losing my Universe due to my PS4 randomly being wiped out. I have set up a new Universe on PS4 (I also setting up a Legends Universe on PC) I am going to try something new and different for this one and focus on NXT actually becoming it's own brand and identity.

Background:

BREAKING NEWS - NXT To Be Third Brand. New Faces Coming Soon

WWE.com has learned that Triple H is taking NXT to the next level. Today, Triple H has announced that NXT will no longer be considered a breeding ground, or developmental area for Raw and Smackdown Live. NXT will be a third brand, and compete with Raw and Smackdown Live.

"There is so much talent out there for the world to see. Many stars from around the world, wrestling on the Indies, in Japan, Mexico, the UK and more. NXT will be the place to showcase these talents and more" Triple H says

What does this mean exactly? Is NXT going to become a sort of new generation NWA? featuring talents from the around the world, other promotions and more? It is no secret that NXT has generated buzz over the last couple of years, with many talents on Raw and Smackdown Live getting their start in NXT, but as Triple H says, there is even more talent out there, and a little extra competition with Raw and Smackdown Live won't hurt.

Raw and Smackdown Live compete weekly on WWE TV, and while this is great for business, simply adding a third brand to compete sort of regenerates the old days from the attitude era of when WWE, WCW and ECW were all competing with each other. All three companies had their own identity, just like we have here. With the WWE network subscribers continuing to grow, establishing NXT as it's own brand is a great way for millions of new fans to see new faces and talents from around the world.

"Having the WWE network subscribers see these talents from around the world, only makes the wrestling business world wide even stronger" Triple H says

NXT is not rebranding, simply branching out. NXT will feature the Cruiserweights, seen on 205 Live. NXT will also feature the UK Championship. With many people missing the Hardcore style, NXT will be introducing a Hardcore Division in the near future. Along with the Tag Team Division and Women's Division.

The NXT women's division is what changed the way women's wrestling has been viewed over the last 2 years. The plan is to have a women's tournament, similar in style to the CWC and UK tournaments seen in 2016. NXT has also been known for it's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Tournament, and looks to continue this in 2017.

NXT is looking to be an alternative to Raw and Smackdown Live, having a little bit of something for everyone and things are just getting started.

We Are NXT!

How do you guys implement the legends into your normal brands? I am having Jack Swagger do a legend killed gimmick right now, to "cleanse America" where he is going to defeat Hulk hogan at summerslam, and then as he wins the championship from John cena at the rumble to have "defeated every legend, and have purged America of their uselessness." A returning Kurt Angle is going to enter and win the rumble, setting up the main event of my WM35

More prolific than entries on the List of Jericho, I am restarting and restructuring my Universe mode once again. The curse of a creative mind - never happy.

BACKGROUND:

New Japan Pro Wrestling has begun to forge plans to become a worldwide competitor to WWE and has announced plans to dramatically shake up the layout and landscape of "independent" wrestling. After discussions with independently contracted talent, together with the heads of NJPW, ROH, PWG, WCPW and several others (TNA Anthem Big Bird dropped out of negotiations) they have formed the International Wrestling Alliance (IWA) Each organisation therefore agrees that their own World titles be consolidated, and Alliance World Champions be crowned, with the creation of three, brand new Championships. The IWA World Heavyweight Championship, the IWA Intercontinental Championship and the IWA World Tag Team Championships - discussions for a possible IWA Womens World Championship are ongoing, with Shimmer, Shine and Stardom in negotiations. (Not happening on my save due to lack of remaining spaces)

Allaying earlier fears, NJPW's crown jewel event "WrestleKingdom" will remain, and will still be fully NJPW branded, although the IWA Championships will be defended. It will however, not exclusively held at Tokyo Dome - and will be touring in future.

As far as shows and PPVs are concerned, there will be six PPVs which will be held in venues across Europe and Asia, and in a bold move, the USA and Canada. So far the announced show schedule is;

IWA World Wrestling - A weekly show, which will be shown on a Friday night, often live.

IWA Rebellion - The first bi monthly PPV event, set for August.

IWA Explosion - November PPV

NJPW WrestleKingdom - January PPV and the Wrestlemania of the IWA calender.

In addition, every two months where one of the above does not take place, there will be an IWA PPV called "Night of Glory".

IWA will run in Universe alongside WWE and NXT - WWE taking the form mentioned before with the original Brand split, but with floating Champions and only 12 PPV events. NXT will run a Takeover event every two months.
