--The Mental--
That was awesome! I wouldn't mind THQ putting back Brodus for this entrance and theme. No God please!!!

Believe
If they sell a Funkasaurus hat, I'd buy it to wear at a live event just for fun. The best thing about this is it's fun. They didn't stop his push for it, he went out there and squashed Hawkins. They just gave him some personality, some flair, some way to show off charisma I honestly didn't know he had after watching all his Superstars work. I didn't care about Brodus Clay at all until Monday. He was entertaining as entertaining can be, he told a story in the ring and in his entrance that showed more personality than most get to exhibit in mic time. He did an interview on WWE.com saying that he was still going to kick ass and be taken seriously. Wrestling is not serious. I prefer gimmicks and wrestlecrap that makes sense to a product that will never be realistic trying to be realistic. I like CM Punk, I like Daniel Bryan, I like guys without a gimmick. But I also love Gimmicks, I was never going to get behind big default Brodus, but I'll get behind the funkasaurus. People start with a gimmick, it makes them memorable. They then grow out from there. This is his debut and I loved it.
MrB
His new gimmick is great. I strongly believe the only reason some people are knocking it is because they just assumed he was going to be yet another intimidating monster gimmick just because hes bigger than the rest of the people. His new character is different and unexpected and it wasnt boring like he would have been had he been just a big monster.
V to I
I loved it. Totally caught me off guard, but it was hilarious. I didn't even know Brodus had it in him to be that guy, but he completely pulled it off. I'm thinking that this is Johnny Ace's way of having RAW being "Exciting", with stuff like Funkasaurus and his...Funkettes? Either way, kudos to whoever came up with it. elgato
ahahahahahhahahahahahhaahahahah this is it.... the perfect proof how stale and uninventive wrestling has become, so that todays wrestling fans totally dig a shitty and used before gimmick like that! Thank you all, now I can rest easy with the knowledge that I come from the days when Wrestling was real, exciting, unforeseeable and full of variety!! Thank you, for now I know that just like in Basketball with Michael Jordan, I have seen the best era of time that a certain sport has ever had and can easily lay back now and tell the people of today that back in my time things were different and way better ! I hope someone invents a time machine so backwards people that can't move on can just go live in the past forever. That'd be pretty rad. Rose tinted glasses up the wazzoo. I'm sure the internet has compiled every Raw and WCW Nitro in the ninetys, you could just watch them on a loop each year and relive your favourite years. It'd work. I believe you're looking for "Planet Funk" not Funkasaurus Land.

Nearly every other gimmick is based upon some kind of movie/comic character What about Dolph Ziggler's gimmick? Daniel Bryan's gimmick? Oh, this is a good one.. tell me what movie character Triple H's gimmick is based on? The WWE are actually being more inventive with what they have than they have been for the past few years and it's really shown. Brodus Clay's gimmick may sound incredibly rubbish and cliched on paper considering we had awful gimmicks such as the 'Kerwin White' gimmick despite the guy being Hispanic but the thing is that Brodus actually made the gimmick work and that's what we love about it. Dolph Ziggler is essentially Mr. Perfect whilst following less sporting endevours with more trick based ones. Daniel Bryan is Dean Malenko or Chris Benoit with the submission specialist. Triple H originally came in as an aristocrat of some form, which was a cliche and trite gimmick from many novels, television shows and reality at the time... I'm a huge Ziggles and Bryan fan. I just disagree with the sentiment that you have to do something entirely new to be original. You can do something that is an idea as old as time and as long as you do it better, innovate on top of it or make it your own you deserve praise. Entertainment is entertainment, over analysis is easy, when you're an adult finding the simple joys of wrestling is harder. Brodus' weirdly awesome gimmick helped me find a simple joy of wrestling.
