WWE Video Games- Did you know?

Figured to pass time before 2k14 we could do a "DYK" of wwe video games past. It is WWE 13 related as my DYK is about WWE 13.

- WWE 13 is only the second WWE video game to have been "re released" after the official release date. WWE 13 had the original THQ logo replaced by 2k logo upon reproduction of the game. The first game to be re released was WWE Raw for XBOX which was originally released as WWF Raw. The original releases has the WWF logo, while later copies were produced with the WWE logo on the box.

WWE Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain- The developmental version featured Jeff Hardy, Hulk Hogan (along with his alter-ego Mr. America and his 1980s appearance) and Ultimate Warrior. Hogan and Hardy were removed from the game when they left WWE and Warrior was omitted due to a legal dispute with the company. Data for other omitted wrestlers, including Spike Dudley, Billy Kidman, Billy Gunn, William Regal, Bradshaw and Three Minute Warning remains on the final discs.

Some one on here a few months back had a link to a site with selection screen pics of Hogan, 80's Hogan, Warrior, and Mr. America from HCTP that remained on the disc. If any one has that and can post it please do.

WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2009 is the only SVR series not to feature Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock.

WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2008 was the last game in the series to feature a Crowd Area "hot spot" , which debuted as an hot new feature one year ago in Smackdown Vs Raw 2007.

Same with WWF SmackDown and WWF SmackDown 2: Know Your Role

Austin also wasn't in SmackDown vs Raw.

Not really a wwe did you know, but showdown legends of wrestling was rushed out by acclaim. They thought due to the buzz around it that sales of that game could help save the company from bankruptcy. The result was a game that was buggy and glitched. A former acclaim employee confirmed years later in a Q+A that acclaim could not afford to have the game tested before release therefore it was not.

Acclaim was also so broke they didnt end up paying any of the legends that appeared in the game. The box advertises jerry lawler on commentary but after not being paid he threatened to take them to court if they used his voice or image. They agreed to take him out, but ended up only taking out his commentary.

Sure Showdown: Legends Of Wrestling was glitch ridden; but all of them where normally amusing. Such as tossing a chair at someones leg and having them be busted open in a first blood elimination match; putting someone through a table and having them vanish and reappear floating moments later. Showdown: Legend Of Wrestling might have been rushed out; but it is still 9,000 percent better then Legends Of Wrestling.

You'll have to check my math but I think every game company that's published WWE Games has gone down nine years apart from each other.

THQ marketed a so called "new feature" in WWE 12 where the ring mat and ropes moved after bumps etc, they hailed this as a"revolutionary, brand new feature".

Pop in SYM and you'll understand that this isn't new, we had this so called "new feature" years ago and THQ purposefully removed that feature only to add the feature back in later.

Goldberg has only ever been featured in "1" WWE game (HCTP). But his shoulder tattoo has been featured in many WWE games in the CAW/S mode.

He also appeared in WWE RAW and WrestleMania XIX.
