I will admit that the original anime did have a good story and etc, but I just don't like how much it was made different. I only watched about 3 episodes of the original but I read about most of the plot for it.

And Brotherhood follows the manga alot more than the original series did because the original was made shortly after FMA started getting published so they went off on their own story instead of taking a break to follow the manga.

Yeah I watched Brotherhood. 30+ something episodes of it on Hulu. I *censored*ing love the Yuri intro for it.

Yeup, and I'll gladly say that it ended epicly. Over 100 chapters with around 50 pages each. If you were able to follow Death Note easily, then you won't have a problem with FMA. FMA is easily one of my favorite mangas.
