  1. Expecting to see some Outlast 2 posts today!
  2. I liked it. I passed out during the trailers (which I don't usually do in theaters) for 15 minutes and woke up right before the gunfight started. So it was hard to keep track of which character was on what side. But yeah, if you enjoy Tarantino style movies, you'll probably like it. I think single setting movies are cool.
  3. Such an underrated movie...and I hate that so many people don't realize how it was created...the kind of work that went into it...people seem to just think it's computer rendered. It's a masterpiece. Agreed. Has anybody seen Free Fire? Interesting premise (the entire movie is a shootout).
  4. You will not be disappointed. Does it also include the DLCs? Probably not. This dude rarely beats his games lol. Worth grabbing? Croft Manor, The Baba Yaga and Cold Darkness Challenge are both good. Depends on whether you want to or not. My copy came with all of the DLC. Wait. I just beat Baba Yaga last night. Maybe it did come with it. I didn't have to download anything so I just assumed it didn't.
  5. Play WWE2K17 again. Be a good gamer Mike.
  6. You will not be disappointed. Does it also include the DLCs? Probably not. This dude rarely beats his games lol. Worth grabbing?
  7. A buddy is letting me borrow Rise of the Tomb Raider today. Pretty pumped.
  8. Unless you got some special edition, you paid too much... But, great game nonetheless. He's Canadian. That's a good price for us.
  9. Well, at least you're honest. lol Lol of course. ...and I know what you're saying Gen. It's certainly not a case where they're striving for top of the line graphics and I should be okay with it. I'm just shallow and I know my buds are even shallower. Which means they won't be down to play. I can only play wrestling games with people over. Not into customizing stuff or playing exhibition matches. I only came into this thread to find out what this game was because I've heard a lot about it over the years.
  10. Man I'm shallow. Don't even want to play this because of the graphics
  11. Working my way through Dishonoured 2. I'm incapable of stealth and just kill everybody in sight. Which isn't the proper route in this game (from my understanding...)
  12. I think the story was told in an unconventional way and isn't as safe as say, a Nicholas Sparks love story. Sure, the story looks like conventional fluff based on a trailer but you may be surprised with how it goes. The same can be said about Moonlight and Hell or High Water. Both conventional outlines for a story in a sense. One's a heist crime modern western and one's a coming-of-age about a boy struggling to find acceptance. You know where they're going, who is going to survive or if they'll end up with some sort of happiness at the end BUT the magic is in how unconventionally the story is filmed, structured and brought to life.
  13. Not to start a debate but I think that contradicts your definition. La La Land certainly has a distinct authorial style. I kept wondering if it was directed by the same dude who directed Whiplash and I'm like...yeah, when I seen Damien's name pop up. It's conventional to an extent but also doesn't go the way I'd predict going in. The final ten minutes are a huge trip. Despite it making a lot of money, I don't know if I'd call a musical safe filmmaking but you're spot on about the big stars part. I also agree about the other films you mentioned. I have no intention to watch those. Just saw Arrival...worth a watch.
  14. Nah. La La Land is far from it imo. I guess it depends on how you define Oscar fare though. Eh, I kind of see Oscar fare/bait as pure dramas about super serious issues or the tough life of historical figures. The focus is usually on dishing out emotion and making audiences uncomfortable to make a point about the particular subject. Not that I'm bashing movies like this but I find some of them boring. Like last year's winner. Spotlight. Regardless, I did like Moonlight a lot and I had no clue it based on the director's life. The plot of Lion on the other hand sounds so dull to me. That Manchester one looks boring. Worth watching?
  15. I saw La La Land on a date. It was good but not something I'd watch alone at home. Hell or High Water was awesome. Watched it last night. Moonlight was typical Oscar fare but I agree. Kind of hesitant to watch Lion for the same reasons. Still haven't even seen Arrival or Hacksaw Ridge.
  16. Watch any Oscar movies? I've seen La La Land and Moonlight. I plan to watch Hell or High Water later tonight.
  17. How? Shopper's Drug Mart Optimum points. My mom had over $300 dollars worth so she called me and asked me which game I wanted. Games are $90 in Canada now after tax so it was a great buzz to get one for free.
  18. I like that he attempted his own spin on it but I hated how he made all the characters trashy. I hated Loomis and Laurie with a passion so I didn't care what happened to them. Surprisingly, I do like Zombie's other films.
  19. A buddy called me bashing the shit out of this idea. But I disagree... ...I don't think it matters that they're comedy writers. It's strange but I'm not going to bitch about it. Apparently Jordan Peele's upcoming "Get Out" horror movie is amazing and he's from the same background. Halloween is my favourite movie of all time and I absolutely hated Zombie's take on it. But I'm willing to give this a shot at least.
