Opener

Opener (3/10)

  1. How you think the rules "should be" isn't how the rules *are*. Smacktalks has been given lines in the sand from 2K. He's still doing his thing because he stays within those lines. Status (arrogantly) decided he didn't care about the lines in the sand 2K drew. He thought he could do whatever he wanted, and then he found out he was wrong.
  2. They report news pertaining to this series. What Status does is newsworthy. As far as I know, that isn't a violation of any agreements. What Status is doing is. That's the difference.
  3. So then your issue isn't Status being banned, but other people not being banned?
  4. The thing is, they've literally been letting him slide for years. I won't be annoyed if they unban him or anything, but I also won't be annoyed if they don't. Dude's had plenty of warnings. He's gotten plenty of chances. I understand why people like what the guy brings to the table. I'm just saying you can't blame 2K if he winds up being done for good. The person who gets the blame here is Status.
  5. This is "trending" in your For You tab if the algorithm puts you in the WWE Games grouping. For reference, "Community Creations" currently sits at 1,271 posts. It's "trending" in the bubble. It isn't huge blowback" in the grand scheme of things. It's only "huge" in the bubble.
  6. I'm agnostic when it comes to IG. But it's expressly stated in the ToS that it's a no-no. It's not surprising that WWE is big on it, especially with them going so hard on PR right now. 2K clearly drew a line, and people crossed it. So now 2K is doing exactly what they said they'd do if people crossed the line. It's like if a YouTuber broke an embargo. How you feel about the embargo is irrelevant. A line was drawn, and there are consequences to crossing it. It's really that simple. None of this should be surprising or controversial.
  7. Dude, come on. It's obviously the IG stuff that crossed the line. We all know why WWE doesn't want people to have the ability to make clips of Vince and Brock beating the hell out of Liv Morgan in their video game. Acting like this is over man buns and audio files is ridiculous. The whataboutisms don't change anything either. This just shows that more people need to be banned.
  8. This is why I'm not losing it over 2K cracking down on modders violating ToS. Better we lose the mods, or the modders for that matter, than lose cross platform CC.
  9. It seems people are regretting the "They're TaRgEtInG sTaTuS! Why don't they ban other people breaking ToS?!" talking point now.
  10. Cornell was fired along with well over 500 people in the company. If Status was the reason, that must have been one hell of a conversation!
  11. What is exactly "all this time messing with Status"? Cornell was let go as part of massive, company wide layoffs. But yeah, I'm sure it's all about Status and mods. Most people are pretty happy with the state of the game, but that's beside the point. Even if 2K24 was 2K20-level "broken", that still has nothing to do with banning someone for repeated ToS violations. If anything, it looks like they went out of their way to avoid banning him by putting things in place to prevent him and others from doing things they can't have in their game. Eventually, they had to do what they had to do. They should definitely get rid of porn and hate imagery on CC. That doesn't have anything to do with banning Status, though. Full disclosure, I'm not a content creator. I have no reason to want to be a Nextmaker. I'm not selling anything. I have no content that requires exposure. I know this is your go to every time someone doesn't agree with your rants against 2K, but it makes no sense in regards to me. I'm not the wannabe WWE Games content creator here, Jeff. I stand by the things I defended. I'm still waiting on that huge mountain of obscure "legends" we can only get from Showcase, I still don't understand why a handful of people are so worked up about that fireworks cutscene, and I still think someone repeatedly violating the ToS getting banned is the least surprising thing ever. I also stand by the things I've criticized. I still think Story Designer is long overdue, I still think Universe should be merged into MyGM, and I've been complaining about little things like Rey Mysterio Jr not having an accurate finisher for years. I'm critical of plenty of things, I'm just high on the series the past few years because a lot of the things I've complained about for years (stamina, selling, GM Mode) have gotten a lot of attention. I'm not KiSsInG ThEiR AsS, I just have a different opinion than you. You seem to have an unusually hard time with that. "All your friends" agree with you because they're your friends. When you live in the personally curated bubble that is social media, it's easy to convince yourself that "everyone" agrees with you. The post I was replying to seemed to be saying "They ban Status, but THIS is OK?!". Just saying it isn't, but that's not a reason to not ban Status.
  12. They should also ban those accounts. Doesn't change anything about Status.
  13. He didn't "have to" do anything. He knew he was violating terms of service, and he did it anyway. Arrogantly. Loudly. The only thing surprising here is how long it took for them to take action.
