PeanutbutterShelley
ok 2 years ago rey won the rumble but why was triple h and john cena in the main event at WM
M3J
Rey did get a shot at the championship, and I guess they thought Cena and/or the WWE title was more over and more important than Mysterio, Orton, and Angle and/or the World Heavyweight Championship. lockie7777
They put Cena/HHH in the Main Event for their entrances probably. WWE knows how to go out with a bang every WrestleMania. Well, at least most of the time.
CoryTheBragg
They wanted to give HHH and Cena more hype then Rey at that time. they just wanted to get started on the Eddie respect storyline, and they figured that the title was the best idea for it. CMPunksXe
Raw is and always will be the flagship show of WWE, Raw got the last match last year, they'll get it this year too.
*Undertaker16-0
The atmosphere of HHH and Cena's match was a lot better but Rey, Angle and Orton was a better match in my opinion. I see your point as the last time Smackdown actually main evented Mania was since Wrestlemania 19 and that was it. But if Cena will fighting in a singles match and Batista and Taker is still going to happen that should be the main event.
~RKOwned~
Didn't Triple H win that road to Mania tournament they had, that set up the opponent for Cena at Mania 22?
*Undertaker16-0
Yeah he did the finals were him Big Show and RVD and HHH won the triple threat match and then he went to the main event.
Dazz
^ Yes he did. The only time I can remember a Smackdown title match main evented Wrestlemania was Brock vs Angle, Triple H vs Booker wasn't as highly promoted as that, other than that thought it's been mostly Raw. LGD
Because that was a better match.
thompson
I thought the royal rumble winner only got a title shot, thats the way it used to be. Only now they are calling it a 'main event' spot. But i guess it was a double main event last year with the two major titles on the line. WM22 was awesome in my opinion. Nobody
But what does that have to do with anything, Billy2292? it was supposed to be a Smackdown! main event, but it was replaced by a RAW main event.

*Undertaker16-0
I thought Taker signed one contract in 1990 when he debuted and it lasts until May to June of this year. One thing for sure is I know Taker is the longest signing wrestler as of right now. Whatever championship Taker challenges for which I assume it to be Batista that should be the main event of this year's Wrestlemania.

Taker resigned a new one several years back which ends in 3 years time.
KroniK
I thought Big Show also signed a 10 year deal when he entered wwe. Anyway back on topic Dazz is right. Taker's contract doesn't expire for 3 years so the earliest he will retire (unless of injury) is around wrestlemania 26.
