I can't really complain about the DLC this year. Getting Penta in exceeds reasonable expectations, and the New Wave pack fills out the rest of the current roster pretty well pretty quickly. It's funny to me that they've been doing the most old school wrestlers as the final pack. No interest in the Dunks pack, but everything isn't going to be for me. A TNA pack could be a thing next year, but it was way too soon to reasonably expect it this year. People really worked themselves into a shoot with Hendry.

Also i just realized that:
-Abyss, who has never wrestled a match in WWE in his career is DLC (!)
-first time ever that DX will be fully represented in a game in over 25 years (HBK, HHH, X-Pac, NAO, and Chyna)
-the NBA guys and celebs are the move pack, and are for the casuals so it's whatever, just hope you got the same energy for 2K like last year....
-Guilia and Vaquer being first out for DLC is great. Really excited about that.

Can’t wait to download OG Tori to complete the DX set. Im glad we finally have their music back in the game bc for the past few games I gave them Pac’s theme and just ultimately had them enter the ring separately bc it wasn’t the same lmao

 

+ I didn’t know Abyss was signed with WWE as a producer lol. I was wondering why he was included and why that wasn’t a TNA pack. Is Ranjin still signed as producer or ambassador too? If so, I could see them adding him as a surprise manager since a lot of guys are getting their’s added back in the game. I wonder if they’ll give him his OG gimmick or the playboy one hahaha.

 

Waiting til september for Victoria is crazy but i’m glad we have the big pack going first to tie up the loose ends. Aside from the new moves we typically get with celeb wrestlers they’re usually the people I play with the least. I don’t know why WWE shells out large sums of money for these people just for them to appear in ONE game and they’re usually criticized for it by the fanbase. I guess any publicity is good publicity.

Just woke up so bear with me. 3 NBA players as DLC? They better come with a bunch of new moves. I want my Blazing Arrow! I hope one of the celebs is either Poppy or Cardi B tbh. Travis Scott is an obvious choice but I don’t know if that’s in the cards. Hope so.

Yeah poppy not being the game is kinda surprising since she’s worked with them a lot and even came out during IYO’s entrance once.

 

wwe also wanted sexyy red to wrestle for them but she turned it down bc of her tour, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she shows up  lmao maybe we might get another rearview from her hahaha

I haven’t even checked Twitter. I’d imagine the reaction to the basketball players has to be incredible..I think someone said iShowSpeed has 75 million followers or something like that so him streaming himself playing 2K25 could be a clever business tactic by 2K if he’s one of the celebs.

Not going to lie, no Joe Hendry is gutting. Especially with the 3 t-shirts in the teaser. But Abyss being in is amazing. That's a great DLC to be fair. The NBA guys don't really excite me. But if they're related to wrestling like Shaq and Rodman could be fun. Makes sense with as a 2k crossover. But the length of time of release dates is a ball ache.

you figured it out. this is a business, and gaming in 2025 is all about cross-pollination with other franchises and outlets in order to drive people to your game. especially with Fortnite and COD...so this is just 2K staying current.

Even when it wasn’t about cross-pollination, I was the one saying there should be celebs in WWE games and WWE superstars in other game franchises. It makes WWE look and seem like the big time that it is. I was preaching about this well before Batista and New Day appeared in Gears 5 and I was delighted to see it happen, similar to wrestlers being in the Yakuza series. I keep the same energy for celebs in wrestling games because I know the intention is to reach as many eyes as possible.

Oh shit, I didn't think of the weapons that'd come with Abyss and New Jack. There better not just be basketballs in the Abyss pack. people aren't happy though, there again when are they ever?  Some leaker leaked the dlc last night on twitter, they've given dates for the packs too.

Pack 1 May 15th

Pack 2 June 25th 

Pack 3 July 23rd (With Goldberg and Nikki Bella being added in a patch or Myfaction, take that with a grain of salt.) 

Pack 4 September 17th

Pack 5 November 12th 

The dates are pretty easy to predict, I'd have guessed them dates. But the DLC was accurate.
