Why is 2K obsessed with ruining animations by adding unnecessary toe kicks to them? DDP never set the Diamond Cutter up with a kick. Hennig never (or rarely) set the Perfect-Plex up with a kick. If I want to kick before a move I can do it myself.

Also, Muta set his Flashing Elbow up with a snapmare 99% of the time, but there isn't a generic snapmare in the game that leaves the opponent flat, making it impossible to perform the move like Muta did. This really should have been a standing attack with the snapmare baked into the animation similar to the Snapmare & Penalty Kick and other such moves.

Over half the damn moves are taunts and the other half has ridiculously glaring omissions. Lol2K.

I don't even care if he didn't use it until after he went back to Japan. If you include the Great *censored*ing Muta, you include a new *censored*ing Shining Wizard for Christs sake.

I was actually hoping classic WCW Muta *wouldn't* have a Shining Wizard. I wanted him to be accurate. I wish he'd have gotten some mist moves like his top rope Frankensteiner, but I wouldn't want a mishmash of different eras of anyone. Hopefully he's got some exclusive reversals.

I'm all for the accuracy too but I was hoping for (but not expecting) some Shinning Wizards for the hell of it like how Barrett had a great new Bullhammer despite being the NXT Season 1 Barrett in 2K23. We can always edit the Movesets

Doing another version is another matter entirely. I'd have loved a new Shining Wizard in and of itself. The ones in the game currently kinda suck for the most part. I just don't think we should have to edit characters for them to be accurate. If a wrestler has two drastically different versions, I think they should get the most out of the likeness and do multiple versions. I still don't get why they don't do 123 Kid in addition to Syxx and X Pac. Drastically different wrestlers, despite being the same human being.

1-2-3 Kid would be so cool to see in the Main Series

Just.. remove the new one from him, then? I don't understand how you can possibly say you're happy to have gotten less.

I...didn't? I said I'd love it if they added a new Shining Wizard. I said I'm happy the early 90s Muta they did is accurate.

I'm much more disappointed that Muta is missing signature moves he used in the '80s and early '90s like his double mule kick out of the corner, his very distinctive throat thrust, his distinctive running facecrusher, his nerve hold, his sideways back body drop, and a basic side leg lock (I think only a heel hook remains in the game). He should have several poison mist variants as unique reversals/counters too. I'm sorry, but four new moves isn't nearly enough for Muta's first WWE video game appearance.

it's been a long while since i've been on here but i gotta say i'm loving the WCW DLC.  my only gripe was that diamond cutter being so slow and with a gut kick.  I don't remember him ever doing it like that at least in wcw.  But i actually think it would work for a mid 200's Kanyon when he was doing his Kanyon Cutter shenanigans lol.  I also hoped that teasing cutter from the shoulder thrusts would turn into a Diamond cutter when you had a finisher but sadly it's not but these are minor gripes.  my only issue with luger is they gave him Omos' Wakeup taunt when all they needed to do is Animate that wakeup taunt 3X fast and it basically would have been his real torture rack taunt.  Mr Perfect I just turned him into Curt Hennig since i mostly do WCW universe so sadly he will never pull his strap down unless 2K wises up and lets alts and caws pull them down again.

to be honest he should have gotten one, or 4. because from the matches i saw of him in 96 and 97 WCW he did use them. they might not of been finishers or match enders but he did use them.  It's just like when they set the harlem hangover as current (or 04) booker t's finisher. he never did that as a finisher but it's set.  so yeah but this is 2K so.  They care more about content damaged, moving parts to my wallet and locking stuff behind that god awful mode then actually doing their research

WCW Mysterio didn't even get his WCW finisher. I'm not surprised at all that early 90s WCW Muta didn't get his All Japan finisher he didn't use until 10 years later. People "want" every move ever. That doesn't mean there's a reason to expect it.

actually his finisher was the slingshot legdrop.  he did do a seated hurricanrana springboard and that's there but it doesn't have the pin combo.

as to your point, muta was doing shining wizards in wcw but it wasn't a finisher

yeah this is what annoyed me not to mention the speed of that diamond cutter is super slow lol

these people just don't do their research.  i'm glad the stuff is in and all but i can't believe ddp actually called 2k24 the best game ever when they didn't even get his finisher right. and don't even get me started on luger not having a proper torture rack taunt

I doubt DDP cares about the accuracy of his finisher in a video game. The games are the best they’ve ever looked, so it’s easy to be a legend looking at the quality of the games now compared to back in the day and say it’s the best ever. The problem lies from bell to bell. It feels more like a wrestling-themed fighting game than a pro wrestling game.

It’s like someone out of frustration with the new gameplay style said back when 2K22 came out….they said that it would take years for Visual Concepts just to get back to the level of gameplay we were at with 2K19. I doubted it back then, but it looks to be the case. Each release is indeed better than the last, but that’s not good enough to warrant the fake media praise as if it’s the best thing to happen to wrestling gaming. It’s not.
