WWE 2K24: Finish Your Story (Official Info/Discussion Thread)

I mean, you made that up. No one is realistically asking for Christy Hemme, Tori or Lena Yada or whatever random diva you can name. And if they were, i can 100% guarantee it was a joke. The only serious inclusion you named was Trish vs Mickie and that actually is regarded as being a great storyline/match to a lot of people. Mickie literally appeared in their rumble while with another company and even hinted at a return/making appearances as of late. So it is doable, IF they wanted. The problem is they don’t want to and they say things like this:

 

but then do the bare minimum. No one is asking for pudding matches but for women to be equally represented and be thought of.  especially from a company who keeps priding themselves on “evolutions” and revolutions lol. They’re not evolving with the times and realizing that male wrestling fans aren’t their entire market anymore. I’m not entirely upset because i’m used to and have been playing these games since when we had a whopping 6 women. as long as there’s a healthy roster I really don’t care that much about the showcases even thought they definitely deserve to be apart of it

I still wish we could have people who couldn’t be a part of the 40 Years Showcase because they either weren’t in high profile enough matches or someone in the match is with another promotion. For example, Raven, Sable, Luna,  JYD, Paul Orndorff, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, and so on.

Is the WM tag match with Orndoff not in? I was sad Mr . T got removed because I had him with Omos in my 2k22 universe

 

also idk why people are confused over the brock/vince thing. obviously they can’t just remove him out of the game without delays and it just being a buggy mess. they can barely give us a game within a year and you expect them to do it a month before release and everything be fine?

Doesn’t look like it’s in but I could be wrong. Having the very first WM main event should be a given but you never know. Orndorff was in several Manias I believe.

Chyna vs Ivory would've been terrible from a gameplay perspective. 

The objectives for that match would have been:
-Damage Ivory
-Execute your finisher (Press Triangle/Y Button)
-cutscene-
End of Match

Not much you can really do with Chyna's wrestlemania involvement outside of her being an NPC in cutscenes.  And the only other match she was in was vs men at 2000....which would never fly because of 2K and WWE having a pretty cut and dry "no intergender violence" policy.

Everyone's already said what I was going to say about those matches, though it would've been nice if maybe Jazz and Victoria got back in those games somehow...maybe they're DLC....

But for real, I love how people are taking Bryan's words out of context. The full quote is about the Showcase mode having 3 matches this year vs 30 Years of Wrestlemania having....ZERO women's matches 10 years ago. People just want to read what they want to read and not what's there.

To Glen Coco, there absolutely is a Diva stan contingent that want to see the likes of Christy Hemme, AJ Lee, Ashley Massaro, Torrie Wilson, etc and I do agree with them because the more, the merrier. But it’s too much. They use any inclusion in the game to steer the conversation back to their Diva agenda and bitch about Kelly Kelly not being in or something.

Seems strange to think we have Hogan, Piper, that we had Mr T in ‘22 and we now even have Ali and yet people are saying the tag match isn’t there…

The only bad model they've shown so far IMO is that terrible Bayley one. Hopefully she gets the Lita glow up by the time the game releases. Outside of that one though, every model shown seems to show improvement. Even the legends look much better

Well, hopefully one day the big diva stan boogeyman doesn’t scare yall as much. the point being that women are underrepresented and when they are, it’s the bare minimum. deducing the entire conversation to people wanting a Christy Hemme showcase and a bikini match dlc is part of the problem. but agree to disagree!

 

But a lot of the models do look a LOT better this year. Randy’s model still….sucks hahaha hopefully the macho king looks a little better. Praying Rude gets his proper theme too

Very curious about the full roster now and very interested in the dlc road map! I am hoping it's all or mainly WM related and like the 40 years of WM edition bonuses. I'd prefer extra matches but would gladly take attires and arenas like I mentioned earlier.. Triple H from WM 2000 and the arena

I feel like had Sasha not left. We would have gotten her match against Bianca, as for past previous matches with the women, Trish vs Mickie at 23 would have been cool to see.

Whichever family member runs the Paul Orndorff Twitter account said they weren't contacted by 2K, but are definitely interested. Weird that they didn't go for that match, especially when they have Ali. 

 

As far as women being represented in this Showcase goes, I think it's more a statement on the WWF/WWE during the early WrestleManias than about 2K now. With a historical Showcase, they're largely bound by history. That said, it's entirely possible that one of the unannounced matches is a women's match. 

 

As far as the other two, I'm wondering if one of them isn't the fantasy match they've been finishing these with lately. There's a match after Cody vs Roman on the match selection screen that just has a WWE logo. On the other hand, maybe whatever that is isn't one of the "21 matches" advertised. It's also weird to me that there's not a single Triple H match. The plot thickens...
