It's really not rocket science, it's basic marketing,  and as I said 100 times before, it doesn't make financial sense to remove either Vince or Brock especially that they have not been officially convicted 

My point is that you have to let people know he’s in if there’s a chance of a moral issue. I’m getting the game either way. Just saying it’s a potential PR issue if he’s in the game unannounced.

Nah man, at worst, it will create a small controversy which will dial down within few days because his scandal came out way after the game development.

But I truly believe nothing will come of it because again neither he or Brock are officially convicted, look at Jimmy Snuka, man had all the evidence of murder against him, yet he still featured in SvR, Legends of Wrestlemania, SvR 11 and All Stars.

not really they could just do a whole cutscene with real footage and not use an actual model

JK Rowling (the creator of the Harry Potter world) made some transphobic remarks that got her canceled 

Despite her not being associated with the game at any capacity, activists tried to fight the game by calling for boycotts 2 weeks before release. The result was the game being in the top 5 most sold games in 2023 and still among the top 10 on steam LOL

Showcase could feature equal amount of male and women matches and diva stans would still bitch about something!

 

They could have easily added those matches but I'm glad they didn't. Still other better, bigger and classic matches in WM history that got left off than just women matches for the sake of equality or girl empowerment!

From what I noticed and remember, a diva fans movement and an obsession with women wrestlers in wrestling games started around Smackdown vs Raw 2010 or 2011

Yeah because wanting representation is such a bad thing people constantly bitching about “DivA fAnS”, when they make up a huge part of the wrestling fanbase is so annoying especially when male fans have proven to be just as whiny too. They literally stated that women would have heavy representation in the game and in the mode and lied.  There are some GLARING omissions so the disappointment is understandable lol. 

 

That being said, i’m kinda disappointed and have been since I saw that we were only getting 21 matches. I understand that some people obviously can’t appear in the games, but I feel like 2k14 was much more stacked. I don’t mind the repeat matches as much, because they pulled a couple of others ones out too, but I wish got SGT Slaughter, Studd & King Kong back in addition to more women’s matches. I’ve been dying for Ivory to be back in the game and for us to get Chyna’s WM attire, but eh. I hope the DLC is good this year because even though I said I was a little disappointed so far, I still feel like I will enjoy the game.

18/21 showcase matches updated in the OP

tbf more women's matches would've been nice, especially if it wasn't just 21 matches. Also the ones I could see being included can't because of people who are in it:

- Sasha matches (vs. Bianca, vs. Becky and Charlotte)

- Paige (AEW) & AJ Lee vs. Bella Twins

- Mickie James (Impact) vs. Trish Stratus

My issues stem from the fact a lot of that community is loud and wrong about their demands. Representation is great. But let's be realistic here, the only matches that are realistically going to be in that game with the women's involvement were going to be limited to anything from the past decade....and then it gets even thinner when you see who isn't on the roster/who isn't under contract when the mode was being developed.

Maybe in a better world Flair vs Asuka would have made it. At best, that match. 
But Sable vs Tori?
Trish vs Christie Hemme?
Trish vs Mickie James? (who doesn't even have a relationship with WWE)
Any/all of the Playboy covergirl matches vs the women champions?

I don't get it.

Representation is great but it makes sense why it's limited for a showcase about WM top matches and only 21 of them. Have a women's dlc pack, that would be fine. 2K25's showcase could be about the "women's revolution" and that would be cool but in this case meh

Then why take him off the cover? Hell, why take him off Royal Rumble? Obviously WWE (and more importantly, their sponsors) think it's a big enough deal to pivot to some degree. The only thing that's yet to be seen is to what degree. Again, I don't know if Vince/Brock will be in or not. I'm not emotional about it one way or the other. I'm just talking about expectations here. I'm not expecting either in the game until I see signs they're in. And I think Brock and/or Vince as a surprise has more negatives than positives. If they're not worried about keeping one or both in the game, they shouldn't be worried about listing them in the roster reveal.

How can you forget the legendar evening gown match between Stacy & Miss Jackie vs Sable and Torrie, or the iconic Melina vs Ashley or the legendary Christy Hemme vs Trish Stratus.

I am repeating myself every 4 pages

1- the PR effect of them being in one of the company's biggest event is drastically different from featuring them in a video game

2- It's much easier to take them out from events and posters than it takes to take them out from an entire video game

3- them featuring in the game isn't as much of a surpise as you are making it out to be as most fans actually expect them to feature especially after announcing WM X-7 and we all know how much Vince was involved in this, if you saw this trailer and still get surprised that they are in it then i dont know what to tell you

4- 2k decided to limit the damage, take Brock out of the promotional stuff (easy edits) keep him in the game, low PR backlash (if any) and call it a day while removing them from the game this late into development (after announcing 21 matches) will require a delay will have massive financial reprecautions for 2 people who are not even convicted yet.
