WWE 2K24: Finish Your Story (Official Info/Discussion Thread)

I’ll be happy with whatever is in the Showcase. AEW kinda ruins the possibilities and the randomness that could’ve been. I’m expecting a very safe, very easy layout of legendary matches to recreate, similar to 10 years ago but with women this year. I’ll pop if Ronda’s in. I’m dying to see Ali’s moveset and see if anything special comes with it like the Rope A Dope. I do hope Brock is in the game, and I mean retro Brock and current Brock. If not, I won’t cry about it…except maybe when I have to look at those horrendous day 1 Created Superstar attempts at Brock. If they screw us over with new moves and/or DLC, as I’ve said, this wouldn’t be the game for me perhaps. Maybe next year.

Seems our friend likes hiring people from Impact Wrestling/TNA.  I remember when he was looking for someone to do Kairi’s Insane Elbow, he asked us who “on the indies” had the best elbow drop. I sent him a list of literal people on the indies with incredible elbow drops. They were apparently “too indy” or whatever for 2K. Turns out anything that isn’t WWE is considered Indy, even AEW to a degree which didn’t exist at the time anyway. Would’ve been nice to know. To this day I don’t know who did the elbow. Could’ve been better but it looks passable.

I looked it up and for 2K19 the people who were doing mocap for the women were:

Mia Yim
Chelsea Green
Tessa Blanchard
Jessika Havoc
Santana Garrett
Rachael Ellering

So based off that, I think it's safe to say it probably was Santana or Mia or Tessa who mocapped it.

Just a thought. It’s crazy how much Brian Williams is important to this series. The year he wasn’t part of the game the series lost a lot of wrestling psychology. Since svr he’s always been the guy trying to bring stuff fans like or adding those little things fan appreciate.

Ehh.. i also remember him lying through his teeth about the massive move removal of SvR 2011.

I'm still incredibly bummed about the 50+ moves that were inexplicably removed in 2K22. Looking at 2K24 footage it appears that the generic HHH-style mounted punches are still missing. Everyone has the awful version that ends with a stomp or slap.

I don’t remember the what happened in svr2011 but yeah the series has been far from perfect. I do always remember that Cory used to bs people a lot and I’m sure Brian did too but I always appreciated his passion for the series and getting features in (create an arena comes to mind).

I hope to see more people in the future passionate about shit only wrestling fans understand work on the series to make it better. You’d think with what a nerdy mesh wrestling and video games are they’d have more expert people in this series lol.

They still could be in. I find that they’ll add a move because of someone, say in this case Triple H because he did them at Wrestlemania 25, but they’ll only give them to him because they were added for him, if that makes sense, and they won’t become “generic moves” until 2K25 and they’ll get shared out.

For wwe2k25 I hope they gather most create modes under one banner: CREATE A PROMOTION !

We can have the following modes;

Create a wrestler

Create a ref

Create a sign

Create a ring

Create an announcer

Create your fans

Less than a month before launch and I’ll give it to them, we know a good deal by now. Their video reveals have been uninspired the past few years. The 2K19 gameplay trailer was the last time I saw people like “Holy shit! I NEED this game!” but I’m gonna give them the benefit of the doubt. I need to see the DLC list. If only there were someone who could assure us that the moves gods will smile upon us this year.

I'm worried about CAW mode, we have heard almost nothing beyond Create a Ref and Create a Sign, and that mode badly needs some smaller touch-ups. Please. I dont want to go another *censored*ing year of not being able to make proper tights because of that stupid arbitrary logo cut-off.

By adding 2 new create modes,they HAVE to give us more than the dreaded 1000 logo limit. THEY HAVE TO ! Right...Right...?

Kinda doubt it there man, I feel like we aren't getting increase to logo limits and CAW slots till they ditch the last gen completely and even then it's not 100% guarantee.

ehh....here's the issue. i think, at best, they might have to raise the logo limit to 2000. but when you're still working with last-gen tech, and last-gen tech file size systems, might not be feasible.


they do need to cut last-gen off from new features. just put the series in statis and focus it all on current gen. with that you might be able to increase the file size limit to suit SSD drives and double it.

I think until they straight up tell us last gen is the reason, we can’t say we know for sure. What happens when 2K26 comes out and it’s next-gen only and they STILL haven’t raised the limit? Imo if that were the case, they should already be raising the limit for next-gen only as incentive to buy the new console. Because I gotta say, I have zero reason to buy a PS5 as of now.
