What five wrestlers would you cut from the base game to include McAfee and friends (who got scanned the day before yesterday, by the way)? Do you think people are going to pay extra for Gallus, Duke Hudson, and Thea Hail?

Why would I cut anyone in the first place? Just add them and do other DLC. Nobody says what they currently have in the game just stopped at this number because they had no time anymore.

You know what people are getting wrong? Nobody buys this f'n DLC because of Pat and his Friends., Especially not because of his Friends, because these casual podcast fans would need to own the main game in the first place. You know what they maybe would buy tho to play silly fighting wrestling with them? Just the game.

I don't know how they can get this so wrong.

Because additional contracts, models, and motions don't just fall out of the sky. The idea that they could have added all of these other wrestlers and just chose not to makes no sense at all. If they thought Lexis King would sell, he'd be DLC. If they thought people would buy a pack to get Lash Legend, they'd have offered her. They're in this to sell content and make money. McAfee and friends get the game exposure. These lower level NXT acts get the game nothing. That's why the former is in and the latter isn't.

Lol you say these lower NXT guys wont sell DLC, but Pat's podcast buddies who no ones ever heard of will sell a DLC pack? lol makes no sense. They're selling the game to WWE fans, and a big chunk of WWE fans watch NXT and want current NXT guys in the game, not Pat's buddies.

Sure Pat can put over the game on his podcast or whatever, but dudes who listen that don't play WWE games aint gonna buy it cause he promotes it, people that already buy the games are the ones whos gonna buy it, Pat aint talking any new people into buying anything.

No, I say they'll expose people to the game. Does Lash Legend bring that level of exposure? Anyone who knows what a Sol Ruca is is already buying the season pass. Again, this is a business decision. I agree that more actual wrestlers would be better for the hardcore fan. I'm one of those fans. I want what you want. I'm just saying I understand the dollars and cents of it. If we're being honest, higher sales numbers are what's best for the series because it means a bigger budget for the next game. If you're not into the content that (potentially) facilitates that, that's fine. The idea that it somehow robbed us of other content is absurd. The people who screamed "SLOTS DON'T EXIST!!!" for years have suddenly done a 180, and it's insane.

They really need to sit and sort out universe mode glitches. The amount of times it puts people in multiple matches, or you go through setting up your matches, only to go back in and find it’s over written most of what you’ve done and just changed the card is ridiculous.

I get that it’s becoming the mode they clearly care least about but at least make it function as it’s meant to.

My best friend watches Pat’s show and he thinks the pack is amazing, so what do any of us know?

Will he buy the Game PLUS the DLC tho now?

No? Of course not.

Would he maybe buy just the game itself for them? Mayyyyyyybe.

So like I already said, they did it the wrong way. Pat & Friends should have been in the marketing for the main game or pre order DLC, but your friend surely won't buy the game plus DLC, no matter how amazing he thinks it is.

I find it kind of weird everyone is this animated over Pat McAfee, a guy who actually has wrestled and has a strong respect for the business overall (he actually bought a ring and installed it, trained with Rip Rodgers, etc) and yet there's crickets over Post Malone, who has NO in ring appearances or involvement in WWE or any organization.

Just strikes me as odd.

Post Malone doesn't take a whole DLC pack for himself.

People have convinced themselves that Pat McAfee "blocked" other people from being included by pushing to get his friends in. It's as illogical as people thinking Lash Legend or Lexis King or whoever would have been in if they hadn't squeezed Punk in. In reality, McAfee didn't keep anyone out of the game any more than Punk did. It's hilarious that some people have done a total 180 on it now that it's someone they weren't hoping for in the game.

I think it’s because (well it is for me) Pat on his own? Fine, as you say he’s wrestled, been involved in notable moments etc. However his podcast buddies? Who cares. So a whole DLC pack is mostly filled with guys who have never been involved. Post Malone is a bit of a waste, but at least he’s a one off person chucked in because he’s on the soundtrack, that to me is similar level to sticking Fred Durst in JBI.

Adding four random guys who only people who listen to the podcast know and then charging money for it is ridiculous. I’m not particularly het up over it myself, I do think it’s a waste and I just think it’s poor form of 2k to make people pay for a season pass where that’s one of the packs. I’d rather they had stick a movespack in or perhaps a pack with arena parts.

Anyone declaring it’s a great money move is talking rubbish though. If there was no season pass and all packs were sold individually, pack three would be the lowest grossing pack by an absolute million miles.

It’s worth noting, this isn’t true of everyone but I keep seeing it said.

Sure some angry virgins on twitter are probably talking about blocking people being in. However most people I’ve seen understand that it’s not blocked anyone, and that there are no ‘slots’ they just think it’s a disappointing waste of a DLC pack.

If 2K is so hell bent on celeb involvement in their games, maybe they should take the gameplay engine, talk to some record label that is a cultural beacon to many, and make a crazy off the rails fighting/wrestling game...

Did anyone try that before?

Def Jam series and Celebrity DeathMatch The Video Game

They gotta do something about managers in a patch, i thought it was just a showcase thing, but no in Universe and all other modes if you got a manager they CONSTANTLY grab weapons' and slide them in the ring, hop on the apron and remove the turnbuckle pad over and over again. Literally the whole match they are removing the turnbuckle pad and the ref has to keep going over and putting it back on.

Its like they're just bugged to constantly do all the actions mangers can do during a match every 20 or 30 seconds.
