The "New Head of the Table" achievement was a bit of a hassle, no doubt. However, I had more of a hassle with the "Unfinished Business" achievement.

The Kofi one was easier for me...just because the only requirement was to win. I didn't have any trouble doing that one on my first try. Anything that requires additional attention being divided elsewhere is more challenging for me, personally. - I was actually actively thinking about making sure I didn't use a payback move the entire time for the Reigns one, so it became more stressful. - With Kofi/Lesnar, I was like "okay...just don't lose". Lol

I first tried Kofi/Lesnar as well. It just gave me more of a hassle. It really came down to the wire.

Is there any way to choose the wrestler you face in a rivalry match when you aren't facing your rival? Like when you pick a rivalry action that has your rival jumping you after you have a match with someone, as far as i can tell the game just randomly selects a wrestler from the brand to be the opponent.

Is there not a way to choose who you wanna face? cause it messes up my stories when i got like the number 1 contender for the WWE title being randomly placed as the jobber for a midcard feud. It almost never selects jobbers or lower card guys, it always takes someone from one of my big feuds and i gotta beat them. Its a real pain in the ass.

Forgive me for a stupid question. I haven't been on this forum for a long time.  Did they do away with custom soundtracks for this game? Because it would be nice to input the correct music for my created superstars.

It's possible on PC, I think...but hasn't been possible anywhere else since the 360/PS3 era. - I remember they always said stuff about hardware limitations, or claimed that it wasn't possible anymore...but, it's all about copyright stuff in the end. - Obviously it makes no sense that the more powerful systems wouldn't be able to do what was already possible on the older ones.

We’ve been pushing for some sort of Spotify integration for many years now but no dice.

Gotta say, I’m already gonna be sad to see this game go in a year. The menu screens, the soundtrack, the gameplay, the MyRise, the caw mode, damn near everything I’ve touched or come across in the game has been fun. Don’t know when the 1.04 patch is coming but literally caw heights (5’1” to 7’4”) are the only thing I need right now.

I've had some crashing when searching for things to download but outside of that, my experience has been pretty flawless. Did have one funny bug pop up which caused two chairs to stick to one another, so if you picked it up to swing at someone, a second chair would just float around and also attack. IMO, this franchise is in a great direction. We'll see what Universe looks like soon, just gotta finish the career mode to fully unlock everything that's not in MyFaction.

My only real issues have been Universe mode related, primarily with tag teams/managers, that situation is a buggy mess, entrances not being selectable, tag teams set to come out separately by default. Rivalry actions not showing up at random times. Praying the firs big patch addresses all of that.

And then he gets upset when we call him out on his BS and being extra while nagging

Did you even buy the game?

BS? Ok buddy, if you want to open Pandora's box and want to dance, then let's f'n dance. Of course I bought the game and I already spend over 100 hours with it, so I know exactly what I'm talking about. But since it seems that you have absolutely no clue what kind of fundamental problems this game has, fundamental problems that almost every single mode in this game has and how to add them all up to see that it really is in the ballpark of being as bad as 2K20 as a whole. Let me just start, to list some of them to hopefully make it a little bit clearer to you how broken some things are here.

Disclaimer, I love the gameplay, as a game, in theory it's a great successor to 22 that tackles a lot of things and tries to improve on every corner. But, so much stuff is broken right now, that it's quite frankly alarming for people who don't just play this casually 2 hours a week.

CAW Creation:

People have a lot problems to create more complex CAWs and attires since the in-game textures are now also counting to the image/layer count

Also a lot of material problems like changing material doesn't cover textures anymore on in-game superstar attires. Some people report certain materials revert back to default when using a character in a match

Create an Arena:

Completely *censored*ed.

1) When adding logos to turnbuckle & barricades the logo disappears

2) invisible referee when using custom arenas

3) TitanTrons and many parts wont stay where you put them in CAA when you using arena in matches

Create an Entrance:

Completely *censored*ed.

1)  You can't select normal entrances as championship entrances anymore, this means you can only access the little list of special championship entrances. Most people have their normal entrance pre selected in the CAE mode, so they actually come out with it normally, but you can't change them to any other normal title entrance, like Sami heel to Sami face or Lashley 2 to Lashley 1, and some wrestler like Karrion Kross, doesn't even have his standard one selected by default, so there is no chance of giving it to him.

Also, this concerns every single CAW people make. None of them will be able to choose a normal entrance for their title entrance. Only from the hand full of special title entrances or which ever are preselected as a preset.

2) Previewing different lightings or pyro can be messed up and resets lighting or doesn't show what you want to preview

3) Can't remove certain screen color effects anymore like black & white for NWO, none goes back to black and white. In general loading a template and messing with the color option can also reset stuff

4) The whole Cody entrance thing and that even alt attires remove his theme

Universe Mode:

Pretty *censored*ed.

Let me quote reddit here:

The whole rivalry system is a huge step back in my opinion, not being able to choose the third person in every decision or that I can't set a simple run-in anymore is so annoying and limiting it is literally 1 step forward 2 steps back. Plus the problems with teams and 3 person team entrances and that almost no team in whole UE is set as coming out together and if they are they mostly all have standard default entrances.

Changed movesets either don't work in UM or reset back to standard when using alt attires.

Alt attire random option under the superstars page is still gone after it vanished via patch in 22.

Another general game issue, if you have 4 person stables, these teams COMPLETELY vanish from the create an entrance selection. And if you had them pre set they still work but when you have a 4 person judgment stable and you come out with all 4, only the 3 person entrance plays and the fourth person vanishes.

MyGM Mode:

Title Match Option is greyed out in triple threat and fatal four way matches when this should work.

You see, I've came with receipts, I've made my homework so don't try to call me out again buddy, acting like I don't know what I'm talking about.

Basically all the fundamental features I care about are somewhat broken in a way 22 never was and highly goes into a 2k20 direction. Create an entrance, annoyingly messed up, create an arena, super glitched and I haven't even mentioned half the problems people have with it. The whole team and 3 person entrances and 4 person stables thing is SO broken and weird. I don't even what to say here.

Universe mode with team and moveset issues and backwards rivalry system and a lot of stuff I haven't mentioned because they never even fixed for this game like sideplates not working on any championship that's newer than the WWE Women's Tag Titles, including them.

NXT NA sideplates being misaligned and textures on it being messed up and so much more.

I already wasted way too much time with you, so this should be enough.

I am trying to find a move that I saw in CAM mode but cant remember the name. It looks like it would beling to Kai, Lyons or Xia. it is several kicks followed by a roundhouse kick that sends the person away.

Lyons kick combo?

There's gonna be a huge patch/update I'm sure. No doubt 2k had to keep to the release date, I'm only using Showcase right now, then My Rise. All the rest (most importantly universe ) will have to wait.

Clearly not ready for release bar Gameplay and exhibition mode

Most of these things aren't bugs. It's a list of things that are different than you think they "should" be. In some cases, I even agree. That said, 2K23 is nowhere near as buggy as 2K20 was. It's far from perfect, but most people are happy with 2K23. It's the highest rated WWE game in a very long time.

Ratings don't look for what the hard-core expect. They look at gameplay - which is great.

However 2k have a duty to fix the modes the reviewers don't go deep into too.  The next update will be game changing in that regard. It needs to be.

And I can see the things that are actually broken getting some attention. I don't see them changing their minds on design choices because a handful of people don't like them. Overall, the game is getting much more praise than criticism. The idea that it's anything close to "another 2K20" is absurd.

The idea that because something gets praise that means its not wrong is frustrating to me. Especially since, as i've pointed out repeatedly, this does not need to be an either or situation. They can absolutely combine the new gameplay with the aspects of the old gameplay people want back. "people praised it therefore you're wrong" is not a valid argument, especially when people are speaking only from their own perspective and shouldn't be expected to do otherwise. It's like people who say "oh well that would be hard to do for a dev".. So? Why is that my problem? They're the developer, its there job to worry about developing; as the consumer my only worry is the end product.

I've gone on record repeatedly that I think that they could slow the gameplay down to reasonable levels and re-institute the grapple system from before without losing anything substantial. I do not care what the majority think of the product because I am one person with one opinion, and even if it may not be the majority opinion, im still going to give it and im still going to approach the game with that opinion.

Sure it might be different if the wrestling game market were competitive and we had options to go to if you don't like one thing and the other product has that thing, but at the moment that's not the case. the AEW game looks like it has an identity crisis, the Wrestling Code is frankly phantomware until we start seeing anything more than "OMG WE SIGNED THIS PERSON TO BE IN THE GAME WE HAVE SHOWN NO ACTUAL GAMEPLAY OF YOU GUYZ", and Fire Pro is a very, very acquired taste. So unless I want to go play 5 Star Wrestling (HA! no), then the WWE games are quite literally the only avenue some of us get for simulation based high quality wrestling; so to us that like that, it is incredibly frustrating to see them abandoning that; all the while slowly slipping back into their old habits regarding bugs, glitches, and restrictions. You did not need to abandon the old gameplay entirely to update it, but it seems to me that 2K20 was such a disaster that they took a hard turn and drove in a way that while novel to many people, is also a hard opposite of the gameplay style some of us really enjoyed.

If you like the gameplay if the new versions, great! I'm happy for you, and I hope you have a ton of fun. But some of us miss being able to simulate a wrestling match rather than play a fighting game that just happens to have grappling and diving moves.

First you said you loved the gameplay, but are frustrated that the game is "fundamentally broken". Now you don't like the gameplay, because it's "a fighting game". Which one is it? People who disagree with you aren't making valid arguments because "they're only speaking from their own perspective", but you're going to to speak from your opinion...even though you concede it isn't the majority opinion? You keep contradicting yourself.

If you don't like it, you don't like it. You're entitled to your opinion. I'm just saying it isn't anywhere near as buggy as 2K20, and I don't see them shifting direction much because the overwhelming majority of players are into the current direction.

I'd be into it being a little slower and things like chain wrestling were reintroduced (in a different way). I just think the good far outweighs the bad. There are features I miss from past games, but overall this is easily the most realistic WWE game yet.
