More on the possible spoiler earlier

For those who have asked about the rumors of Ronda Rousey making the rounds for a Royal Rumble return this Saturday, here is what we can confirm:

*At least one WWE official flew after TV last week to California to meet with Rousey.

*We can also confirm that according to WWE sources, Rousey's makeup artist and stylist when she last worked for WWE, Abraham Esparza, is slated to be at the PPV and Raw this coming week.  We are told that that has been locked in for weeks and weeks.

*In speaking to a number of sources who are intricately aware of Rumble plans, we were told "it's all on Rousey" and whether she wants to pull the trigger on the return, but the company is ready for it and wants it for Wrestlemania.  Rousey vs. Becky Lynch or Charlotte Flair would obviously add some juice to Wrestlemania 38 if they go in that direction.

Rousey has not competed for WWE since Wrestlemania 35 but WWE President Nick Khan has stated in April 20201 that Rousey would return "at a certain point in time", which was set.  Rousey and her family announced the birth of her first daughter in September 2021.  The same month, her ESPN+ series Rowdy's Places, which explores combat sports culture and history debuted, including an episode with Kurt Angle.  An episode taped in Philadelphia featuring Paul Heyman and D-Von Dudley was also filmed but has yet to debut.

Since WWE has been promising Veer Singh is coming for just about three months now, the natural question would be to ask "When?"

While he has been working WWE Main Event matches, he has yet to actually appear on Raw.  With the Royal Rumble this weekend, we've had a few readers ask whether WWE was planning the pull the trigger and perhaps have Veer show up in the Rumble bout to give him a big debut after all the vignettes.

After speaking to several sources in WWE Creative, we are told that as of today, there are zero plans for Veer in the Rumble.  Unless there is a last second change, he is not currently even planned to appear on the show, much less the Rumble match.

So, the inspiration for Million Dollar man is still coming, but not this Saturday.

New diva from the past at the rumble

Former WWE star Aksana is in St. Louis and is slated for the Women's Royal Rumble, PWInsider.com has confirmed.

Signed in 2009, the Lithuanian-born star inked a WWE developmental deal after competing in a number of bodybuilding competitions. She debuted in 2010 for then-WWE developmental promotion FCW, where she won the Queen of FCW Crown and the FCW Divas Championship.

Aksana was moved to the main roster in October 2011 and for a time was linked on-screen to Cesaro.    For a time, she teamed with Alicia Fox and was part of a contingent of talents led by AJ Lee against the Total Divas cast, building to a Survivor Series bout.  She worked the Vickie Guerrero Invitational at Wrestlemania 30, which was her highest profile appearance.

Aksana was released in June 2014 and did not continue on performing in the business.  She last wrestled on a WWE Smackdown episode, losing to Alicia Fox shortly after attacking her to start a program.  This would be Aksana's first in-ring appearance anywhere since her June 2014 WWE release, although she has made some convention appearances

Another former diva likely to be in the rumble

Add former WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn (Celeste Bonin) to the list of names spotted in St. Louis for WWE Royal Rumble weekend.  Bonin last competed for the company as part of the 2018 Mae Young Classic Tournament.

Bonin was signed in 2010 and won the third reality competition-inspired version of WWE NXT.  She was called up to the main roster in 2012 and exited the company in 2014.  She returned to the business in 2018, working different independent events and making convention appearances.

We are told by one source she is expected to be in the Rumble match but thus far, we can only 100% confirm she is in town for WWE.

Womans rumble match spoilers

There were well over 30 women at last night's rehearsal for the 2022 Women's Royal Rumble match in St. Louis.  Unless you failed math, you know that's way more talents than are needed for the bout.  In asking around this morning, we have been told that the company brought in extra talents as a precautionary measure in the event someone doesn't pass medical protocols today, so it's quite possible some of the outside names that were brought don't actually compete in the Rumble match but are possibly used in some other fashion.

That said, add former WWE star Jillian Hall to the list of talents in St. Louis for the 2022 weekend, as she was at the rehearsal last night.

Sasha Banks being added to the Rumble match was said to be "as last minute of a decision as you can imagine", according to several sources.  Banks was announced on 1/8 as being out until well after the Rumble due to a bruised calcaneus bone.  That injury was legitimate, so she is back way ahead of schedule.

Dave Finlay is also in this weekend as he is part of the team producing the Women's Rumble bout.  He had been working as a Producer for WWE NXT over the last year.

Since we have been asked numerous times this week about the following names, here are updates on their status with WWE:

*Asuka - We have not heard she is in St. Louis.  The belief is she will finally return from her shoulder injury next month.

*Bayley -  We have not heard she is in St. Louis.  The latest word making the rounds is that the company expects she will be cleared to return this March to return to performing in the ring from her ACL injury.

*Lacey Evans - Evans is not slated for the Royal Rumble but she has been seen working out at the WWE Performance Center in advance of a return to TV.  We have not confirmed a timeline on when that may be.

Former diva at the rumble?

Former WWE star Sarah Logan of the Riott Squad was spotted this morning in St. Louis at The Dome at America's Center.

Logan is married to WWE star Erik of the Viking Raiders, so it may be she was with him visiting as the company was in town or it could be something more.

Just Vince being Vince...

PWInsider.com is told that Vince McMahon has taken an extremely tight look at tonight's Royal Rumble event and has meticulously changed lots of different aspects of the Rumble matches, including who would be coming out first and which talents would be involved at the end of the bouts.

We are told that compared to last year's Rumble matches, where the plans were made and locked in pretty easily, this has been a much longer, complicated creative process as McMahon settles on what direction he wants.

Over the last few days, there's even been talk of adding talents who are wrestling on other matches on the show into the Men's Rumble, although that's not 100% confirmed as creative was said to be going back and forth last night and this morning.

One idea pitched in the last week would see Brock Lesnar somehow enter the Men's Rumble.

At one point this week, there was also big push for Randy Orton to go far as the show is in his hometown of St. Louis.   Another pitch was for Riddle and Orton to go far together with the idea of teasing what could happen if they ended up at the end against each other given their chemistry.

We are told that everything, as always, depends on the whims of what Vince McMahon wants as Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns is all but set in stone for Wrestlemania.

WWE is also still working on the Women's Rumble plans as they had yet another run-through earlier today after one last night.
