The real bit of news is that he moved out of Florida and moved back to PA. That's the news. Absolutely nothing was implied or inferred about a split occurring. In fact, it could easily be a case of Adam Cole having the time to do a move while Britt is busy working. She is literally on tv, and he isn't. So, if they wanted to move to a new house (together as a couple), it would make all the sense in the world for him to be the one who does the move while she is busy working. Unless a statement is made that gives people reason to believe they have split...there's really no logic in believing that. Link to comment
PaperThinWalls
Well, apparently Britt is suspended so I guess she could (in theory) help Cole move after all. Link to comment
glennsoe
So Mjf bursts into the womens locker room, punches a hole in the wall while screaming at Brit... And she's the one that got suspended.. Aew,the gang that can't shoot straight.. Uncle Dave rapports: WON: Britt Baker was suspended for "one to two weeks" Britt Baker was suspended by AEW for "one or two weeks" following a backstage incident involving Baker, MJF and Alicia Atout. She allegedly made a comment backstage and MJF confronted her about it. This led to an investigation by HR and the company's disciplinary committee which resulted in her suspension. (Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter) edit with more quotes: "Britt Baker was suspended for either one or two weeks and fined by the company’s disciplinary committee. "Details have been kept pretty quiet. It came from something backstage at the 7/17 Dynamite where Baker allegedly said something about MJF and Alicia Atout, MJF’s girlfriend heard it and told him and he confronted Baker. "This led to an investigation with HR talking to people on 7/24 and I believe the disciplinary committee that did the investigation recommended that. "I don’t know if Tony Khan was or wasn’t involved in this and everyone was attempting to keep this under wraps. "This all stems from problems in the past that weren’t addressed and a committee was put together to settle these things quickly. Most of those we heard from were sympathetic to her in this situation." Link to comment
Generations
^ It's almost like it wasn't actually a big deal, and everyone involved is saying as much. Britt even made a comment about how amusing it is to read about things that allegedly happened, which didn't actually happen. "Attempting to keep it under wraps" is a bullshit narrative, IMO. - More likely, someone leaked the story in bad faith, and made it sound like a much bigger deal than it ever was. I'm pretty sure the general rule in AEW is that the disciplinary committee punishes people who spread negativity. So, it makes sense to punish Britt just for having a "toxic" rant about a match that was on the show. (Because, that obviously is not constructive, and doesn't do anything positive for anyone). Imagine any other workplace for comparison. - If a server went back into the kitchen at a restaurant and told everyone that the bartender is full of themself, and they make too much money, and they're doing A, B, and C which annoys them...they'd probably earn themself a reprimanding as well. And if the bartender came back and said "why are you talking shit about me?"...they'd honestly be kinda justified in being upset about that. It all makes sense when people stop looking for reasons to slander AEW. It doesn't sound like a bizarre or mishandled situation at all. It just sounds like something that didn't need to be leaked to the media, and could have been ignored altogether. A week or two off television just for someone who started an argument is a reasonable "punishment" if you even want to call it that. And if the story was never leaked, fans likely would not have noticed the absence or had reason to suspect that something was wrong. Edited August 6, 2024 by Generations Link to comment
Generations
Now...onto the other bit of AEW drama: Certain outlets are reporting that the Lucha Brothers are seemingly leaving when their contracts are up. Which is a bit premature to report on, IMO...especially since people are just assuming that means WWE. If that is what it means...then good for them. I don't have an issue with it. I don't personally see them being used better in WWE than they have been in AEW, where they are basically considered founding members of the roster and regularly given airtime and decent pushes (even in spite of injuries). But, that's their business. Typically speaking, WWE does a pretty poor job of booking both Latinos and tag teams. So...I'm not sure what reason the Lucha Brothers would have to be believe they will be treated any differently. But, maybe it's more about merch and that kind of thing. WWE will absolutely have their faces all over actions figures, video games, replica masks, etc. (Again, assuming that is even their destination at all). In any case...there's no real point in speculating. But I also don't think it's as huge of a loss to AEW as some people are making it seem to be. Especially with a slew of recent signings like Ricochet, Beast Mortos, Hologram, etc...and the timing on booking the Von Erichs to win their first championship as well. It's really not as dire as the fanboys are acting like it is. Other people are going to step up. Edited August 6, 2024 by Generations Link to comment
PaperThinWalls
So apparently Ryan Nemeth was ordered by AEW higher-ups to antagonize Punk in a promo he cut on a program. This unprofessional *censored*ing promotion… What a *censored*ed up place to work at. Weird ass high school mean girls type crap. Makes you wonder if Perry was also encourage to antagonize Punk by the same higher-ups, too? Hmmm?? Link to comment
Kman
I can't recall a single thing Ryan Nemeth has ever done. Was it a promo whilst Punk was there or is this a recent deal? Also what was said? Link to comment
PaperThinWalls
I believe there was a tweet first where he called Punk “the softest man alive.” And then there was a promo in ROH where Nemeth was celebrating “Hunk Appreciation Night” and was trying to get people to chant “Thank you Hunk." Then he says that if there's anyone in the back that has an issue with him, he'll face them, even if they're a world champion (this was during Punk’s real world champion stuff). Link to comment
PaperThinWalls
Rey Fenix on Twitter: I needed a doctor and you ignored me for months. (Sucks that tweets don’t display on here anymore apparently…) Link to comment
PaperThinWalls
Man, all this drama with Tony holding up Ricky and Fenix’s contracts and just letting them rot on the couch. He won’t book them. He’s pulled their merch. He added injury time to Fenix’s contract. They’re clearly unhappy. Where’s Adam Page to protect his fellow worker? Link to comment
