I'm glad they signed Keith Lee, but AEW doesn't have a great track record of booking big men. Just ask Cage, Luchasaurus, Hobbs, even Archer to a degree. Should have won last night IMO.

Cage ain't even big...(muscles =/= "big man")

Hobbs is booked pretty solid, IMO.

Luchasaurus is literally a tag champion.

And Archer just main evented Dynamite in a World title match...

Another big man is Wardlow...who is also booked pretty solid. (And Brody King remains to be seen as well).

Before his passing, Brodie Lee was booked tremendously well.

Point is, most of those statements are a bit of a stretch.

The debuts were fine. Idk who people were expecting...they already got Punk, the singing of the decade lmao

Dixie Carter would *censored*ing hype up Val Venis showing up or like a move to another night. They are not the same lmao

I think the issue is that there have been so many signings and people showing up that Keith's debut didn't feel special at all. ESPECIALLY since they did Jay White 10 mintues before Keiths debut.

Cage's downfall was Hobbs joining his group cause he looked tiny in comparison.

Ok I love Lance Archer, but him beating Hangman in his second defense would've been the most anticlimactic shit ever.

Mega babyface Hangman is not dropping to anyone but Cole or MJF, guaranteed.

Imagine not dropping the title to Lance Archer, who actually looks credible, yet dropping it to a dweeb like Adam Cole 🤦

you’re one of those “everybody’s too small” guys huh?

imo that was the exact type of win Page desperately needed to get his championship reign on track. they did the classic underdog match really well

Yes, imagine your hottest and most sympathetic babyface dropping the title, literally weeks after establishing himself by beating Danielson, to an upper midcard heel in the twilight of his career and holds no stock with fans who haven't watched AEW yet, instead of a top heel who consistently get the loudest reactions and recently carried NXT's top title for over a year. (I think MJF or Cody beat Hangman for the belt over Cole anyway, but whatever).

Archer's one chance at the World title IMO was after he won the Casino battle royal. After that the company just became too big. Like I said, I love the dude, happy to see him challenge for the World title on TV and I want him to hold the TNT belt sometime in the near future, but he is not even remotely close to the starpower of AEW's main eventers.

Problem with that is, Cole is not the kind of person who can potentially bring in casual viewers. He's too scrawny and dorky. Archer, on the other hand, can be that guy. So could Keith Lee.

Why are we having a discussion about casual viewers? Casual viewers literally ruin wrestling.

Wrong. Smarks are the ones who ruin wrestling by watering it down to a bunch of fake moves down by generic skinny people. Casuals are the ones who dictate the health of the wrestling business, just look at the Rock n Wrestling and Attitude Eras. The less casuals are viewing, the worse off the business is. And the workrate indie bullshit is what ran them off to begin with. This is why I prefer NXT 2.0, it's a return to what made pro wrestling great once upon a time: characters, storylines, wrestlers that actually look like wrestlers, and actual, feminine, sexy women instead of whatever the hell Raquel Gonzalez is supposed to be.

i really tired of that old ass mindset. ANYTHING can bring in casual viewers because everything is on social media where casuals can see it. i saw so many people who don’t care about wrestling tweeting about Orange Cassidy when he came on the scene. the roided up beasts aren’t guaranteed money makers anymore this isn’t 1989

But isn’t that more “Ha Ha! Look how dumb/silly that is! Ha! Ha! Funny!” and then they move on to the next dumb thing. Where’s the money in that?
