My bad then

No worries, i have long ago stopped blaming or shaming people for what they do with their money.

Sure i dont like the idea that after 2k20 and the way the marketing was so far, people go "no matter what, i will pre-order this", but in the end its your money and if it makes you happy then who am i to try and take that from you.

And i get having this itch, wanting a new wrestling game...i currently feel the same.
I want to sink my teeth into a new wrestling game, build my roster, have fun playing etc.
If WWE2k22 can do that...awesome, if not then i will wait for AEW or The Wrestling code.

I really hope the AEW game is very successful and it leads to a franchise. The wrestling game market has been too niche of a market and small for way too long and the recent wrestling games out there have been exclusives or small indies except of course the wwe brand. Alternatives and more options is very much needed and hopefully soon wrestling gamers will get to choose to either have them all or go with just one if another option ain't good enough!

I wonder how Capcom, Konami, Namco Bandai, Sega or Square Enix would do with a wrestling game and especially if they had licensing rights to NJPW

well they've all made wrestling games before.  Except for maybe namco?  but Tekken sure does have a lot of wrestling moves in it.

I love Tekken. Seperate subject but I've been wanting an image uploader feature for that so we can design our own fighters.

Also, since the image uploader got introduced to WWE games I feel no real interest in wrestling games without this feature. I want to make my characters with the costumes of my dreams and not settle for pre made designs. Pretty confident 2K22 will have the feature as it usually does but AEW and The Wrestling Code.....???

I can see AEW having the same caw mode as 2K19-ish. Kinda like how War Zone/Attitude and Hardcore Revolution/Anarchy Rulz were more or less the same game. Hopefully they have image uploader. The Wrestling Code wants to have a deep caw mode but I don’t know if they realize the amount of work it takes. What we have in 2K and Yuke’s is years and years’ iteration. You can’t just say “Yeah, I wanna do it like that” and do it like that.

I guess some has to do with if you get a Publisher or not.
Server Costs are not that small i would assume.

Since what we have in the 2k games is from Yukes, i could see the AEW caw mode being very similar in depth...but who knows.
This more "arcady" approach could also mean a more basic Caw mode, we dont know yet.

The Wrestling Code promises much, but we havent seen a lot yet.
I dont think its particular hard to build a character creator, i think its details that can be tricky and the amount of customization.
The morphing, the amount of hair and clothing etc, how it all works together and so.

You know, i still dont understand why NJPW isnt looking to get into the video game market.
Especially with the expanding and stuff(is that still going on?), you would think Video Games are a good tool for that.
Hell they havent even brought the smartphone games they have to the west right?
Im not sure whats holding them back in the gaming sector.

Nothing too shocking or new.
Just more of the same buzzwords and the roster thing isnt all too suprising either.

With the amount of released wrestlers, its just not enough time or so to get rid of it all.
But it will be interesting who they have and will cut.
I can see an Aleister Black and Andrade being gone considering they are already part of AEW.
Those who are under contract somewhere else, i can see them being cut...the rest i think will stay.

Its definitly time to finally show the game and if all those Buzzwords have truth in them.

More concerned this game is adding MTX with a potential MyTeam feature. For those who don't know what MyTeam is, it's a casino in a game. Spend a lot of real money for in-game money to get current and legendary NBA players....

MTX in a WWE game is tbh, sickening. Won't touch that mode under any circumstances IF this is true.

Still nothing official...in like forever...

Summerslam is the 21st. If they don't have a cover reveal/full trailer by then, I will be absolutely shocked. It's beating a dead horse at this point...but, Summerslam is literally always the big reveal for these games. It only feels like it's been longer because they took an entire extra year.

why on earth would this guy suggest one of these My Team, fifa / madden ultimate team types of things. Who the hell wants legends locked behind a paywall or a grind.

that was the start of the downfall of modern sports games

Exactly! The dev teams would prioritize those modes over actual gameplay and the game itself would crumble year after year with legacy issues and features being pulled. I saw it happen with Madden. With FIFA. With NBA2K.

WWE doesn't need an MTX backlash/uproar. Nor does anyone want to spend real world money on the slim chance of drawing a 99 OVR Stone Cold.

Feels a little weird that despite the Summerslam sponsor, they are being quiet about this upcoming week. Makes me think that they don't have a lot to show. If they did, with how much scrutiny they've been getting, you would think that they would be shouting as loud as they could about having stuff and pumping up expectations a little.

I start to wonder if we even get something around summerslam at all.
There is no real indication for that, no special event or so so far annouced.
I mean sure that is something they could annouce a few days before SS or even at the SS weekend, but still.
Yeah its sponsored by 2k22, but i dont get any feeling as if something is happening.

Nothing from the developers, wwe or anybody that we should get hyped.
Only the empty buzzwords to a game they plan to release some day.

You would think at least some teasing from VCs side or so to promote SummerSlam itself...but nope.
We get Cole throwing out buzzwords to the game since its sponsored, but nothing else.
Its such a weird approach to me if you want to hype the game or the event.
