On paper this is one of the weaker PPV cards they've had.

I'm hyped for Omega vs Mox, and the ladder match is probably gonna be good, but the other matches don't do much for me. Casino battle royal could be fun, but the last one was eh.

Edit: If it's Shida vs Rosa, then add that to the stuff I wanna see.

Only match that I flat-out don't give a shit about is Best Friends vs Miro and Kip. That entire storyline needs to be tossed in the trash.

MJF and Jericho getting a tag title shot also pisses me off. But, whatever. I'm guessing Jericho wants to hold all of the AEW belts at least once before he retires. I'm kinda over Jericho at this point also. Dude went from one of my favorites to kinda being a glory hog (not to mention his questionable political agenda).

Rest of the card seems solid to me.

Probably the most interested in the women's title match right now...(at least until I know who the opponent will be). If it's Thunder Rosa or Yuka, then I'm hyped.

Interested in the Sting match just to see what on earth they do without killing the guy, I imagine Darby will be doing something incredibly reckless stuff.

The barbwire match, again purely for the intrigue of how they'll pull it off, it should atleast be entertaining.

Rest of the card does nothing for me.

Is the winner of the womens tourny gonna get a title shot on this show? Would be weird if someone else got a shot when a whole ass tournament is going on.

Yeah, finals Wednesday night and then title match on Sunday.

Didn’t they just do a Tag Team Battle Royal a month ago?

Yeah, judging from the rules, this one will be more Royal Rumble style.

Speaking of...more teams are being announced:

Buy-In match added as well. Sounds likely Rebel/Reba will be replaced due to "injury."

^ OMG...now I want to skip this more than ever....this screams of a cry for attention. Can Omega and Mox not just put on an entertaining wrestling match?? Oh, right...Omega needs Okada for that.

The drawing is lame...but it does explain the layout for people unfamiliar with the concept.

The rules are actually a lot closer to the real thing than I expected them to be. Very on-brand for a barbed wire deathmatch. Only remains to be seen what kind of props they're working with. If they have rubberized barbed wire and little firecrackers, then the match can still be a complete farce. Anyway...I don't see it as a "cry for attention". This is a match type that many people have great respect for. It's cool to see one being done again. Your comment makes it sound like you've never seen a barbed wire death match before. This isn't a concept that Kenny and Mox pulled from nowhere. Maybe it would be a "cry for attention" if it was their own creation. But...it's a well-documented and loved match stipulation. Go check out some FMW.

Also...LET KURT WIN THE IWGP US TITLE

You can have Paul Wight avoid answering who the signing is all night...

Main event in progress. Angle interferes and Angle-slams Mox onto barbed wire to help Kenny win. Angle challenges Mox for IWGP US title.

Paul Wight comes out and says "By the way, the big signing was Kurt Angle." Close curtain.

Sure, it's a beloved match stipulation from a certain niche who like over-the-top hardcore wrestling, but I wouldn't say it's something that a significant portion of fans particularly care for or are aware of. Royal Rumble is a match-type that just about every wrestling fan enjoys. Japanese Deathmatches? I don't think so.

And that drawing pretty much sums up why this latest iteration of Omega isn't connecting with me. He's too childish and nerdy for me. That's not something I'm generally into when it comes to wrestling.
