I refuse to watch the Human Centipede movies, any of them. I've seen like a trailer but that's it. Just the concept of it makes my head scream NOPE

Like I said...the first one really isn't bad at all. It's twisted...but no worse than something like Hostel, IMO. And the third one, I never watched...but it honestly looks like a complete joke. The second one is just...nope.

I *censored*ing hated the first one and the 2nd one pissed me for a long time. Had no idea it was continuing with a third one. Sick bastards!

It's on Netflix. Haven't watched it...but, the poster shows a maximum security prison, and they basically have the entire population of the prison connected to each other in what is essentially a centipede of like a thousand people...which is why it looks like a complete joke. The first one went for your typical shock horror/body horror appeal...the second one just tried to be as gross and disturbing as possible, and the third one went full absurd dark comedy (from what I can tell).

I saw ten minutes of "Second Sequence" on Sky once, that was definitely enough. I have a high tolerance of gore too, I can watch open heart surgery and things like that without a second thought.

Not seen it, is it anything like Deathrace 2000? I loved that.

Human centipede movies aren't even that bad. It's just typical scat gore porn.

Are you saying this after watching the first one? Have you watched the second one?

There's seriously something wrong with you if you've watched the second one and think that it "isn't that bad".

I've watched all of them. The subject matter is *censored*ed up, but the movies themselves aren't the most horrific of things. They're told in quite a generic and almost cheesy fashion. It works as blatant horror, but there's no real nuance to them.

That's fine if that's what you're into. I'm not saying they're bad and I'm not telling anyone they shouldn't enjoy them, I just think as horror movies they're very 'obvious.'

I watched all 3 (and own them). I've seen worse.

It legit wasn't that bad. Hated the third though.

They just rely on the shock factor. A lot of movies do that, movies in every genre rely on their own version of the shock factor. They're not bad in that regard, but when it comes to the depths and artistry the horror genre has gone too, they're pretty cookie cutter.

Well the shock factor is still too disturbing to watch that trilogy and be fine with it because there has been worse.

The only worse film I can think of is A Siberian Film

I mentioned it before, but check out the Poughkeepsie Tapes

Just read the wiki page and except for the severed head after the c-section, the film doesn't seem all that bad or at least nowhere near the level of the Human Centipede trilogy or A Siberian Film .

Unless..they show the beatings and rape in extreme detail

Worst thing about HC2 for me, was just that shitty main character...and how believably repulsive he was. Like...he would touch himself while watching the centipede shit, and then shit in his own pants because he was incontinent, and then put his fingers in his mouth. It really was just the single most repulsive film that I've ever seen. I felt like I was watching an actual disturbed, mentally challenged, serial killer, man-child. It made me super uneasy. There was no scene in there that was like "haha...that was so corny and amusing"...the whole film just made me feel gross.

I can watch Leatherface make a mask out of human skin in Chainsaw Massacre...I can watch a movie like Hostel, where there's body horror left and right...I can watch a movie like 'I Spit on Your Grave' where people are raped and abused. But there was just something so truly disturbing about HC2, and I don't know how someone could watch it and not feel that same dread that I felt when I watched it. It was a profoundly sickening experience. And being in black and white somehow made it even worse...and I won't even get into the pregnant woman...

I am and feel the exact same way! The pregnant woman made me loath the director even more. I truly despise him and the writers!

I read the wiki page for the third film and the two main characters seem even more repulsive than any from the other films. There doesn't seem to be any likeable characters except for Eric Roberts as a governor for most of the film.

I hear Kuso is the gross movie in town.

But I think we all have specific stuff that get to us. I struggle with the disease/infection type films. Especially if they're sexually transmitted.

I'm a major hypochondriac so...
