CROSS-Out
Thank god I have you on ignore. I'm sure whatever you said, it was illegible and stupid as hell. --- Anyway, has any of the trailers or videos shown any of the create modes as of yet? I've looked around briefly but can't seem to find anything and it worries me a bit considering the game releases soon.

Something along the lines of No Mercy, barebones mode. There was a Fightful article i believe that claims that Internal people in AEW are not happy with how little options the mode allegedly gives. So i wouldnt expect too much for the base game. Maybe future updates will help elevate the mode, but for now i really only expect the most basic create modes that dwarf next to WWE2ks. Mani-Man
In case people havent seen it yet, the Tag Team matches look like they could be fun this year. You got a lot of positions you can do tag moves from, you can pull the rope down, put manually your foot on the turnbuckle so that your tag partner can throw the opponent into it. One of the things i hate the most in the wwe games is how they made the tag matches a absolutely boring thing. Super lifeless and empty. So this looks like it could make tag matches fun again. Generations
Just saw that they named the F-5 "diverticulitis" in the game...which seems really, REALLY, insanely messed up. Lesnar literally could have died from his condition...and someone at AEW games was like "do it for the lols"...
Generations
Custom stuff looks terrible overall. - Heard from people who have advanced access that it's basically impossible to make any real world people...and I just saw the arena creation offerings...there are no custom images, so you're stuck with some random AEW logos and color swaps. - People literally have a perfect Collision arena in 2k23, and the real AEW game that comes out next week won't have one. That's really bad, IMO. You can make real people easier in Street Fighter than you can in AEW, and that is really worrisome. crazyjk4
Anything creation wise sounds like a dud tbh, Road to Elite sounds either too short or boring from what I've seen on Reddit, I've also heard that the AI is really easy and that matches are too short. To me this doesn't seem like the full price of a 70$ or 60$ game maybe 30$ or 40$ at best on discount, or after they update the game a bit. The gameplay does look fun tho and if I had the same amount of friends who watch or enjoy wrestling like they used to I could see myself having fun with this game. Generations
I legit just realized we already know the full DLC season pass contents. - I originally thought the 6 names we knew were all Pack 1...but that is all 3 packs. There are only two people in each pack. The Elite edition costs $80 for a total of 6 additional characters. They made it impossible to create any real people with the bare bones creation suite...and then they charge for empty DLC packs of people who should have been in the base game. That shit is beyond wack. Edited June 21 by Generations

I've heard the NewLegacyInc group used it when playing games on Twitch and they've streamed with Evil Uno when they did the Canadian Cancer Charity streams so I wouldn't be surprised if he suggested it to try to get their lore in the game. Real dumb thing to do if true, but I'm just speculating. Edit: PWG called Kevin Owens called his F5 the Deep Sea Diverticulitis in PWG. Mani-Man
So much cool material released the last 2 days. The Exploding Barbedwire Deathmatch looks so fun. Creation suite barebones, i hope they build up on that fast, but its not a deal breaker. But its sad to see how that part is what some most focus on and shows how awful 2k really is. They have ruined everything else to the point where people can not grasp that Wrestling games are supposed to be played. 2k ruined all game modes, gameplay and perception of what a Wrestling game is supposed to be, to the point where this creative community only had the creation suite left. Now you got here a game that focuses on the part that 2k actively weakened, and that is good. Comes down to how the after launch support looks for AEW. As fun as this all looks, they will not be able to hold people with just that. The Create modes need to be upgraded fast and a lot because otherwise people will not stick around 2-3 years. The community is just a incredible creative one, you have to give them the tools to be that...especially since the focus for years was on creating wrestlers, arenas, titles etc...you can not ignore that part of the community, that would be fatal. Generations
Well...I forced myself to preorder the Elite edition on Xbox this morning. Have a really sour feeling about the price point, since there is barely any DLC and it's all stuff that should have been in on day one. But...I still don't want to go without it. At least there was a 10% off discount for some reason (game pass/gold/pre-release price?) I don't really know why...but I'll gladly take whatever discount I can get. - Normally, this is the exact kind of game that I would wait for the price to drop on...because, I'm sure the whole bundle will be about $20 in a few months. But...I have friends who want to play it. So...that's kinda forcing my hand.
The Nerd
Just pre-ordered it finally. The leaked footage honestly sealed the deal for me. I’ve heard Road to Elite is short and boring but ehh. The game genuinely looks fun and I can see me and my buddies losing hours just having mindless fun.

black_machismo
Has anyone of you tried creating a Turkey PSN ID and buying the game there? I might try that for this game. I just saw in one of the fb groups i am a member of that they bought AEW Elite edition for around 36 dollars. Such a steal price for a new game with DLC. CROSS-Out
Really sounds to me like this game needed more time in the oven. Also, i hate to be that "told you so" guy, but.. it kinda seems like the art style may have contributed at least somewhat to the barebones creation suite. The ironic thing is that in the AKI games which this game is trying to emulate, it was the art style that made the creation engine in those games so much fun. You could edit pretty much everything from the in-game wrestlers because the art style was so basic.
Generations
Game will suffer from doing exactly what people wanted...because it ignored the tried and true rule that what people claim to want is never what they actually want. - A more intuitive control scheme is one thing. The rest should have been kept up to par with modern offerings. - It almost just became an excuse to leave certain things out in the vein of being "retro"...which is something we've seen lead to failure time and time again from other games. CROSS-Out
Pro wrestling games especially. So many indie wrestling games wanted to be "No Mercy 2" that they seemed to forget how long ago No Mercy came out.

Mani-Man
Really hyped for this week. After a fantastic Forbidden Door show, we get Regular AEW and then the Release of the AEW Game...great time to be a AEW fan for sure.
The Nerd
Definitely hyped after last night. I can see why people are upset about the barebones creation modes and roster and no cage match etc. But a year from now with updates and things added I truly feel we have an all timer on our hands. I don’t care about the graphics not being 2K. I’ll still even play 2K23. The simulation style has never been my favorite so for me personally the arcade but subtle simulation aspects are up my alley. The game genuinely looks fun. *censored*ing thumbtacks, skateboards and bombs. I’m going to have so many bloody ass matches. Then inter-gender matches also are going to keep me playing more. I’ve wanted that again for so long! If we couldn’t defend titles in exhibition that would’ve been my biggest deal breaker more than anything tbh. I’m ready!
