WWE QUARANTINES NXT TALENTS, STAFF DUE TO COVID-19 POSITIVES, TRAINING PAUSED AT PERFORMANCE CENTER

WWE is dealing with a new COVID-19 outbreak that has led to training being paused at the WWE Performance Center, PWInsider has confirmed with multiple sources.  We are told there was no training today in Florida.  There is no word when training will resume.

The belief among several sources is that the outbreak started after a NXT talent threw a party that fellow trainees attended, leading to an asymptomatic transmission of the virus that then spread among those who work and train in the Performance Center.  We are told there have been a number of those who have tested positive this week, both trainees and staff.

Last night’s NXT TV episode was taped yesterday with a number of talents not appearing as originally planned.  This coming Wednesday’s episode was also taped yesterday.  NXT's next scheduled event would be the 10/4 NXT Takeover live broadcast on the WWE Network, giving the company ten days from today to see if those talents are free and clear to return to performing.

As a safeguard to prevent further spread, PWInsider.com is also told that talents and staff working at the PC or on NXT tapings will not be allowed to work Raw or Smackdown tapings at the Thunderdome in Orlando until further notice.

However, there remains a fear among several we have spoken with that given the potential of asymptomatic COVID-19 transmissions and that NXT trainees were working as masked Retribution members on Monday's Raw taping, that there could have indeed been potential cross-contamination to the main roster.   As of this writing, there has been no word that any of the concerns voiced to PWInsider.com have been warranted, but it is certainly within the realm of possibility until a certain amount of time passes.  Obviously, with Clash of Champions and Raw just a few days away, the last thing WWE wants or needs is for an outbreak causing major changes to their plans.

Chelsea Green had it

WWE NXT Superstar Chelsea Green took to Facebook this week and confirmed that she has been away due to a recent bout with COVID-19.

Green noted that she has recovered from the virus, and is “out & about” once again.

“It feels so good to be out & about again after testing positive for COVID. I’m thankful I’m starting to feel like myself. WEAR YOUR MASKS people!! [heart emoji]”

Green has been away from NXT TV since firing Robert Stone as her manager back on May 27. There had been rumors on WWE keeping her off TV due to a call-up to RAW, but that has not happened yet. There’s no word yet on when she came down with the coronavirus, or when she will be back in action.

Stay tuned for updates on Green’s status.

*censored*ing embarrassment. I’m so sick of these privileged mother*censored*ers. They’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity of being paid to wrestle for this entire pandemic and instead of being responsible human beings who take this shit seriously, they continue to make themselves look like selfish, uncaring pricks. They better get the picture soon cause this shit cannot continue.

Lol, didnt they recently got an award or so for how "well" they handled the pandemic.

Pray to any god that we never get the pest back people, when humanity has shown one thing in 2020, then the fact that they would totally lick *censored*ing rats if the pest would return.

Another top WWE NXT Superstar recently tested positive for COVID-19, according to Fightful Select.

There’s no word yet on the identity of the wrestler, but it was noted that this positive test did not necessarily have the concern attached to it that previous positive tests have had, which led to an outbreak on the brand. The wrestler who recently tested positive is said to be one who isn’t around large crowds of people often, especially within NXT.

It was also noted that the NXT brand has long been criticized from the outside to within their own walls for their handling of the coronavirus pandemic, and their return to training, odd scheduling of tests, and the overall performer safety. Word is that it’s not as much of a concern on the main roster because everyone there is tested ahead of each appearance.

Stay tuned for updates.
