Well alot of people are gonna vote republic because they are blaming the gas prices on Biden as if gas isn't expensive all over the world due to Putin.

Gas was going up before Putin. He literally blames everything on Putin. If Joe's Metamucil was late, it'd be Putin's fault.

Dudes now got a lower approval rating than Trump.

Gas goes up and down...and it's usually a bullshit scramble that is intentionally manufactured by big oil. They manipulate the market however they want...which is why supply and demand is usually irrelevant. If they decide that they want to drill more...they just claim that the reserves are low (even when they are at an all-time high). HOWEVER...the current prices ARE a direct result of Putin (at least in a vague sense). - Of course prices are going to climb when you lose access to a major importer of said resource. But, again...the whole "not supporting a terrorist regime" thing somehow seems more important than whether Sally and Jane can fill up their SUV's this week. As usual, it's an exercise in critical thinking and seeing the bigger picture (which is something that republicans are notoriously shit at).

Except Biden has halted drilling.

There is more drilling in the US than ever before...so an article about Biden cutting drilling to curb climate change is hardly the nail in the coffin for gas prices. Again...something Trump was responsible for, was increasing the amount of oil production in the US...to a level that none of us really needed (the stockpile is sufficiently high). Just another example of something people can easily bitch about without actually knowing what they're talking about. You increase drilling to a point never before witnessed...and when the next guy says "we need to cut this back" you cry foul. The oil industry pretends like there is a great shortage (there isn't)...so that they can keep pushing the republican agenda. It's the same shit they do with gun laws..."don't let them take your guns"...even though no one was trying to. Thus, you increase gun sales. You'd think people would see the pattern...but no one said that your average American was very smart.

I think the solution isn't to ban guns, but to take measures to insure that dangerous/bad people don't have access to them. Background checks and mental health evaluations of course, and red flag laws sound like a good idea.

That for sure.
I gave up on thinking you can ban guns as a whole...the weird and creepy gun obsession of Americans you can never get rid of sadly.
But you can make it safer for those who want to live without them and dont want to worry about them.

What i dont get is why so many gun owners are against any kind of regulation etc.
As if they worry that they might not be considered a "good guy" with a gun...which opens a whole new set of questions then.

Even the Army makes regular checkups on its soldiers if they are still fit to operate their guns...why should the public citizen not have to do the same?
Let the people have their guns who are "trustworthy", who can verify that they are not a danger to society.

Biden is for banning "assault" weapons. So is Beto and Eric Swallwell. Don't act like it's not happening.

Also, House Dems calling for the ban of all semiautomatic weapons.

Sir, since Uvalde there were more than 10 mass shootings in america...take every gun ban you can get for the love of god.
Nothing about this is "normal" or fine, everything is *censored*ed up.
Banning stuff that makes such big holes into kids that they are hard to identify, seems like the least you guys can do.

Banning any type of gun from sale is not the solution. Prohibition didn't stop people from drinking alcohol, the War On Drugs didn't stop people from smoking crack, and banning guns won't stop people from getting guns. I think regulations are the best answer.

Oh please, as if you ever even tried to knock on that doors.
Half assed bans and then wondering why they dont work.

This whole "dont ban stuff because it will be pointless either way" doesnt stop *censored*ing republicans from going hard after everything else.
After abortions, Transgender etc...there the first reaction is to exactly do that, Ban shit and go hard after it.

Its an lazy excuse by people to act like banning guns wouldnt stop people from getting them.
Everything that makes it less easy for 18 year old unstable people to buy a gun, is helping the cause.
But you gotta have to follow up with actions instead of thinking that just going "okay we ban this" is enough.

Difference with prohibition or war on drugs, is that these things pertain to human health and addiction. Of course, if people are physically addicted to alcohol or drugs, then they will find ways to bootleg them. Also, it is much easier to manufacture alcohol or drugs than it is for your average person to manufacture precision firearms. Can it be done? Sure. On a scale large enough to really matter? No...not really. Is there a black market of firearms with the serial numbers removed? Of course. But those guns ultimately came from the traditional source as well. So...the less that are manufactured traditionally...the less can end up on black markets. If you ban one kind of firearm entirely, then the numbers available (even through shady sources) will still go down.

Nice to the US cares about women by overturning Roe Vs Wade, next up, getting rid of those pesky homosexuals despite them doing nothing but living their lives. ‘Murica, land of the free everybody! Unless you are not a straght white male, then they will do everything to surpress your rights.

That's a massive slippery slope. Abortion becoming a state's rights issue is not equivalent to genociding gay people, the *Censored*? I'm pro-choice but making arguments like this does nothing but damage the pro-choice cause.

What is a male?

A: They’ve already said they want to target things like gay marriage next, thinking that they’re just gonna stop at abortion is lunacy.

2: I was being mostly sarcastic there.

So you're a self loathing misandrist? That's wonderful.

Am I wrong? Just look the line-up of the Supreme Court and look how the vote went. 6 men to 3 women, and the vote was 6-3 in favour of striking Roe Vs Wade down. It’s a real wonder who voted which way… I’m sorry but men should not be deciding on womens’ issues.

Men decided Roe was lawful in the first place.

And to your other post, you can't define a term with itself.
