So say an NXT star wins the Rumble, do they face the NXT champion or is it the Universal or WWE title they'll have to go for?

I assume like the past couple of Rumbles, the winner would chose which title they go for.

Looking at the RAW roster there are roughly 39 active male wrestlers, so with them going 3 brands only a quarter of the raw brand will be represented there. With the massive rosters and NXT jumping in i feel like it would actually make sense to do another 40 man one this year. Although i guess with a women's one too it would be quite a drag

8 RAW

8 SmackDown
8 NXT

6 Free agents

Would be good with me.

I like having the split because it means that everyone who is in it needs to be top talent.

They should build stories around each spot being coveted. Top names miss out, leading to a change in character.

Other character (eg Rollins) cheat to win a spot (with AOP for example).

6 free agents are too much imo

With NXT getting a third of the spots Thfree agents are enough

Unless you're including people like JoMo, Naomi, The Usos, etc. in the free agents pool

The Usos should be nowhere near the Rumble match

Ronda's winning the Rumble. I'd put money on it. The men's match is far more open this year, I think. Daniel Bryan would be a fair shout if they're keeping the title on Bray till Mania (which I hope) to give us the big final payoff to the angle.

Wouldn't be surprised if Matt Hardy appears as "Woken" in the match either. That would be a decent pop.

It be messed up, and a little funny if CM punks music hits and he comes out to do commentary for the Royal Rumble match. Then people will think he might jump up and get in the ring at any moment.

John Morrison and Carlito, the infamous Rumble participants people always suggest every year. Throw in Chris Masters as The Masterpiece, and randomly book Shelton Benjamin and we'll complete the list.

That list is missing MVP! He will make an appearance this year for sure
