I thought it could be a play with Lana being so vocal about it.

She could be criticizing it on the 3rd ep of the roster reveal (yes it's pretaped so it would mean that it was all planned)

And Rusev (fake) reveals that lana can have a new style with the Cas feature..

I dont think theyd actively plan criticism of their game. Lana is just mad, but it wont change anything. Thats the style she has this year.

It's a WWE game though based on what goes on in WWE and cover the time period for each game, primarily between Wrestlemanias (in this case 33 to 34). For that time period Zelina was a manager.

 

Not true:

 

(1)Khama/Kong never wrestled a single match in WWE, yet, she was featured in 2 games.

 

(2) AJ Lee, Bellas, Stephanie, and Maryse have all been playable in games despite not wrestling much(if at all) during the eligible period.

 

(3) Zelina has plenty of tape to craft a moveset. They can't use the Lana-excuse here.

(3) Zelina has plenty of tape to craft a moveset. They can't use the Lana-excuse here.

Kong was under contract and on the main roster for those games so she was included. She didnt wrestle because of her pregnancy. She wasn't acting as a manager for her time in WWE so she was a wrestler in those games.

 

All those other women have wrestled in WWE so they are included since they have been with the WWE for a while and have a history of wrestling in WWE.

 

Zelina didnt wrestle for WWE between WM 33 and 34 but was a manager for that time period, thus she was a manager for 2K19. Since she has never wrestled with WWE prior to that. It doesn't matter what she did where before that.

Atleast it isnt as bad as everyone expecting Liv Morgan and Mandy Rose in 2K18, somebody saying no because of whatever the reason was at the time, and then them debuting on the main roster as part of their respective groups shortly after the game was out. Yikes. Lol. Now theyre in, and atleast Zelina is in too as a manager...it would be worse if she wasnt even in the game at all. She isnt that hard to create either. Saw a couple really good ones. Shes fine for a year. Atleast now shes a guarantee for the next one if she stays employed and keeps a good head on her shoulders.

There was clearly no long term plan to bring the women like Mandy Rose up, it seemed more like clearing people out for the new women they signed from the Mae Young Classic. It made sense to not include them since none outside of Sonya really had any consistency on NXT and Sonya only did pretty late into the year

It couldve been forgotten by release date because she had been MIA for awhile at that point, but Liv was on TV quite a bit during the Sasha, Bayley, Alexa days of NXT. Its just easy to overlook because of the one title match with Asuka that didnt go so well. Lol. Mandy, not regularly featured so much, but she was atleast on television enough to where a bunch of people thought of her as one of the quote-unquote surprises to the roster of that year. That may have been amid rumors that she was slated for a push of some sort coming up, which ended up being her getting called up instead. Hell, I saw Liv getting called up before Carmella. Crazy world. Lol.

 

But none of that matters now. Point is, it was just an oversight for that year. Wasnt the first, wont be the last. They couldve easily not been missing and they were.

My point is the games are not based on what goes on television from Mania to Mania as people think. Lana wrestled plenty of matches between March 2016 and April 2017, while Maryse wrestled one and Stephanie; none.

 

Thea has been wrestling in NXT(before adapting the persona Zelina Vega) since 2016. After becoming the "Zelina Vega" we see today, she began wrestling live events(mostly mix tag matches) since Feb of this year. She started wrestling on-screen in mid April. Kong didn't even debut in the WWe until May 2011. Yet, she made it into the game that year(WWe 12). There is no excuse as to why Zelina is not playable.

and atleast Zelina is in too as a manager...it would be worse if she wasnt even in the game at all.

 

It really depends on how you look at it. For the sake of just having her, I will agree. But when you think about them going through the trouble of putting her in the game, it is stupid not to have her playable. She's an accomplished wrestler. It is silly to think that WWe would never put her in the ring

same whent for sin cara

 

2 aj lee bellas ect wrestled in wwe and was allowed by wwe to be put in the game even if they dont wrestler much

Any predictions for today's roster reveal?

 

I'm going to go with

  1. Alundra Blayze
  2. Beth Phoenix
  3. Ivory
  4. Jacqueline
  5. Lita
  6. Nikki Cross
  7. Stephanie McMahon
  8. Trish Stratus

Got my fingers crossed for some more NXT ladies and legends though. Ideally the Royal Rumble female legends and Candice LeRae, Dakota Kai & Lacey Evans. Playable Maria Kanellis would be sweet to.
