He is not. He made a few good guesses and people thought he was legit. It got so annoying last year that I banned speaking about him on the forum as it disrupted threads. He's got more wrong than right if that helps you.

Good stuff! I can see the rumour mill is well and truly gaining some traction. Just gets very tiring after so many years. Rumours turn in to expectation, which turns in to 'fact', leading to much disappointment.

It's a really silly cycle.

I know some will say 'but it's fun to speculate' - speculation is fine, but feeding off of these trolls is just plain stupid.

There isn't much to the rumor mill and nothing is gaining traction this year though, which is weird. Didn't some youtubers tweet about being invited to 2K and getting an exclusive sneak peak last year around this time right before E3?

I thought so too. Late May last year I believe was the first I heard a youtuber say they were invited.

Perhaps 2K and Yukes is taking a bit longer to work on stuff this year and don't have it presentable yet? I'd like to think that at least. As much as I love these games (and I do), I agree that the game was released in an unacceptable state last year. So taking a bit longer to work on things before showing them off can only be good.

I am not ragging on 2K as I appreciate the realism they bring in terms of graphics and most game play, but I admit when 2K got the license from THQ I thought this was going to be amazing. IMO the games going from THQ to 2K has been very disappointing especially given the hype wwe and 2K created when they got the license.

I get that its a yearly title and corners get cut and deadlines pass with a "we will patch it later" type of mentality for all yearly games, but each patch 2K releases fixes some stuff then created more issues elsewhere and if it isn't fixed by January's patch they just leave it and move on to the next game.

The last few years we have all paid out money and have yet to receive a full game.

I'm just going to point out that Yukes unfortunately was a package deal with the licence, which I think has really hurt progress. Not to say they're the sole problem, but I do think that they're definitely not helping at all.

I also have a sneaking suspicion that 2Ks higher ups don't allot a very high yearly budget to the games team.

The same Yukes who made the games like HCTP, JBI, SYM still gets the blame for the failures of publishers. Its 2K or THQ or EA or any other company who dictates the terms to Yukes and they make the game as the publishers want within the allocated budget. Not the other way around.

If it isn't for Yukes experience with these games then these games can be forgotten forever if other companies make these games. Mark and bookmark this post and I will bump it once other company takes over it.

I remember when THQ Tank left THQ and he did a Q+A on the THQ forum before it was taken down. Basically, there was more, but this all I can remember, a few things he listed that hindered game production was:

- Deadlines with Yukes created issues due to the language barrier and things getting lost in translation. This made them either not have time to focus on certain areas they planned to.

- WWE would go back and forth with the roster often and change some characters after the deadline. Example: every year at least 5 or 6 people THQ requested were replaced by WWE late. He noted that WWE 12 was the final game he was part of and WWE okd Jericho for dlc and then WWE told them no on Foley. After the roster deadline WWE then removed Jericho and replaced him with Foley. They also had THQ go and get the rights to use Savage after he passed.

- WWE had to approve each character model and they could take sometime to respond.

- THQ did work on dlc the same time as the rest of the game which took resources away from other areas

Obviously 2K probably works differently, butI forgot it was still Yukes so it maybe something similar.

The problem here is not yukes, they produced gold like WWE games before svr series and they are producing wrestling games for 2 decades if I am not wrong. The real problem is with the budget and within the budget its difficult to get everything right from game development to the production, final product and then the patches and the allocated time also plays major role. I laugh like anything when people call for yukes to be removed and give the development to some company which don't have any experience with producing WWE games.

Before people called for the removal of THQ, then they called for the engine change, even entire gameplay engine haven't changed but 2K changed graphics engine last year and it din't do a shite with these games. I want to see how gameplay engine will imrpove these games or it will take more backwards. Now the final straw is yukes, people don't blame 2K and they solely blame yukes, but its the publishers who dictate the game how they want and how much budget they will allot to each mode. Once yukes is replaced these games will be doomed forever. I am waiting for the day when yukes is replaced still the games are same without any improvement and then who people will blame? I assume they will start blaming WWE.

I heard that 2k18 sales were horrible and hopefully 2K learnt their lesson and on the other side I am also worried as they might have alloted less budget for the development of the game when compared to last year.

I'm wondering why you assume Yukes is the same team that made those games many many years ago. Id legit be surprised if a single person from then is still there. But I know better to argue this with you.

That thing about Savage doesn't make sense to me. I was pretty sure Marcus (community manager guy) met Randy personally prior to his inclusion in WWE 12.

The credits say the otherwise. Many who worked for SYM are still there.

I don't remember if it was 18 or 17, but yeah I also peeped some of the credits for comparison and alot of what I'd call "grunts" got some pretty serious promotions. A handful of them at least are top dawgs in Yukes now
