Ed Nordholm allows Impact talent to use their gimmicks elsewhere

In a recent interview, Ed Nordholm said the following:

Myself and Scott [D'Amore] have seen the character development and will be interested to see where they take the concept. Our new talent agreements all incorporate language that allow talent to continue to use their IMPACT persona after they leave the company. We are working with our legal team to amend our existing agreements to extend this to all of our current and former talent."

Seems as though it might've been Jarrett's carny ass blocking the Hardys from using their Broken Universe in WWE.

This makes it blatantly clear that Impact is nothing more than a ring to wrestle in.

Partnering with every indy fed they can find, and giving up on retaining any sort of rights for their gimmicks. They're a ring with a camera pointed at it. Kind of hilarious. But at least they stopped fighting battles that they could never win. Now they can focus on the important things, like paying their talents and keeping the lights on.

Did they actually have a blackout during one of their shows?

They definetly had that during a PPV about a year ago

It was definitely Ed Nordholm as well since Double J wasn't around for some of the issues. And with all the negative press around it they are trying to say this in the attempt to recover a little respect. They simply don't have the funds to put toward legal fees in a case which their isn't really anything to gain.

Plus got to make sure they have enough funds to pay the audience.

Lol...this is also true. I remember seeing that want-ad they put out...50 bucks per person, per night is actually a lot of money...especially when you're getting a free show out of it at the same time. You have to be really bad at promoting when you can't find fans to go to a free show. I mean...make it free, and people should show up. There's no world where any promoter should have to pay fans to come. Lmao.

You know this doesn't affect Hardy if they didn't have a new contract right

Yes and no.

If new talent contracts have verbiage that allows them to use their gimmicks after they leave the company, then Impact certainly wouldn't have a much of a leg to stand on when it comes to past talents. It's basically one of those things that becomes inclusive via proxy. Yeah...if they absolutely wanted to hunt down a past talent and harass them, they would technically have a legal avenue to attempt to do that. But they would also run into the judge asking them why they care so much about those past talents when recently released talents get a pass. It's just one of those situations where they would make themselves look like giant morons if they tried to do it for some reason.

You realize you're talking to Mister Contrarian himself, yeah?
