If the gear is design heavy like say okada's then i could see a reason to, but other than that, I'd suggest taking a photo of logos on the gear. If u can lay out the gear flat, and take photos of the logos photos with lighting that will bring out the colors of the logo or logos, I don't see why I or anyone else wouldn't be able to help.
