According to the Wrestling Observer, former Lucha Underground star Ivelisse, who recently appeared at AEW ALL OUT as a member of the womens Casino Battle Royal, recently had a try-out for WWE. Ivelisse was a member of Tough Enough and Florida Championship Wrestling (now NXT) back in 2011, but left the company because of her unwillingness to change her hard-hitting style, something that WWE reportedly wouldnt care about anymore. The 32-year old was stuck in limbo for some time, as were many talents, due to the hold on her Lucha Underground contract.

Ivelisse is a former LU trios champion and Shine world champion.

Stay tuned.

“It is certainly something that we are pushing for,” she said of a possible Evolution 2 event. “There’s no official announcement just yet and yes, there was a lot of balls in the air and wheels in motion in terms of this year and, of course, one of the big focuses was on our event in Saudi Arabia and having our women being allowed to perform. I’m hopeful to have an announcement on an Evolution 2, but there is nothing official to announce just yet.”

Indie wrestling veteran Mercedes Martinez has reportedly signed with WWE.

Martinez, who is the current AWS Heavyweight Champion, has signed with WWE and is expected to report to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando later this month, according to a new report from SoCalUncensored.

The 39 year old Martinez is a two-time Shimmer Champion and a three-time WSU Champion. She has worked for several promotions over the years, including ROH and AEW.

Martinez made her AEW debut at the All Out pay-per-view last year, appearing in the Casino Battle Royale on the pre-show as the Joker of the bunch. Martinez was the 18th and final entrant but was eliminated by Britt Baker before she could make any eliminations. She then worked the November AEW Dark episode, teaming with Big Swole for a loss to Sadie Gibbs and Allie.

Martinez made her WWE debut in the 2017 Mae Young Classic tournament, defeating Xia Li in the first round. She then defeated Princesa Sugehit in the second round, and Abbey Laith in the quarterfinals. Martinez then lost to Shayna Baszler in the semi-finals. Martinez then competed in the 2018 MYC, and eliminated Madison Rayne in the first round, but was eliminated by Meiko Satomura in the second round. Martinez has also made a few WWE NXT TV appearances over the past few years.

Theres no word yet on when Martinez will start working the NXT brand again, but stay tuned for updates and an official announcement on her signing.
