Report post Posted July 21, 2017 (edited) WWE Championship - Punjabi Prison Match Jinder Mahal © vs. Randy Orton You'd have to think that this is the final match in this feud between Orton and Mahal. With a win after Sunday, Jinder can no longer be looked at an unlikely champion but as a real force to be reckon with. His opponent at SummerSlam -- whoever it may be -- should be a big enough name to drive that point home that Mahal is a legit big deal. My hope is that Jinder hold onto that title as long as possible because I'm enjoying the heck outta this run. Flag Match John Cena vs. Rusev Give mad props to Rusev for taking out Cena in their last two encounters, but those beatings is only going to add fire to America's hero John Cena who should defeat Rusev here. I expect for Rusev to continue to look strong against Cena even in a losing effort. SmackDown Tag Team Championships The Usos © vs. The New Day To me, The Usos are a major draw to SmackDown. I've been absolutely loving them in their heel characters. They dropped the face paint and went with that Usos Penitentiary swag made for some great TV. As I say all the time, The Usos are extremely dependable on PPVs and I believe are in a position to challenge The New Day's tag title reign as hot as they are. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Baron Corbin (via disqualification) The smartest way to play this -- and to possibly set up a rematch at SummerSlam -- is to have these two try to kill each other ultimately leading to Corbin bashing Shin upside the head with his briefcase. Maybe it's just me, but I'd love to see that instead of Shin going over clean on the MITB holder. I'd be pleasantly surprised if Corbin were to win here, but with the way WWE is positioning Shin, I can't see that happening in their first PPV match. United States Championship AJ Styles © vs. Kevin Owens After what went down the last time we saw this match on PPV, AJ -- now the champion this time around -- still has to avenge his count out loss. The buzz created after he won the title at MSG was pretty astronomical and I expect that to continue after what I and most predict will the the MOTN and a possible MOTY candidate. Five-Way Elimination Match to determine Naomi's opponent at SummerSlam Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch vs. Natalya vs. Tamina vs. Lana Though this result is unlikely with the likes of Becky, Char and the x-factor Lana in this match, I'm really pulling for Nattie to win and reassert herself as a major player in women's wrestling. I said this before MITB, Nattie needs to remind people who she is and that she's a legit wrestler and not just a crazy cat lady. Both Nattie and Charlotte are amazing matchups for Naomi and I hope they are the final two remaining. Sami Zayn vs. Mike Kanellis I was very surprised that Mike had his debut match on SD this week -- against Sami no less. I would've thought that they'd wait until Battleground but nevertheless I feel like the result will be the same as earlier this week with some interference by Maria of course. Kickoff Match Tye Dillinger vs. Aiden English The mid-card on SD is becoming very good with the likes of both of these guys plus Rusev, Mike Kanellis, Chad Gable and others. My hope is that eventually Rusev and Dillinger get into a feud because I feel like that would be very entertaining and give Tye a more regular role on the show. Edited July 23, 2017 by classiq.
