WWE Universal Championship

Call me crazy, but I feel like somehow, some way KO will retain his title. Until that promo Owens did with the week after the Festival of Friendship, I was convinced that Goldberg was the obvious outcome. Now it seems as though Owens' confidence is sky high because of not having Jericho around who basically made this match. Y2J shouldn't be far from ringside (although I think this deserves to be a straight up one-on-one match) in either a desperate attempt to regain KO's friendship or to look for a measure of revenge. Either way it's a clear set up for a WrestleMania match. On the other side, Goldberg and Lesnar don't need a title for their matchup. This has been building since November and I just don't see the point. I said it when the rumours of the Universal title going to Goldberg started and I'll say it now, Kevin Owens is the best option as Universal champ heading into Orlando.

 

 

Raw Women's Championship

Bayley © vs. Charlotte

 

 

While I -- like most -- thought that Bayley winning the title at Mania would be the best outcome (especially for me as I will be in Orlando for Mania), but I see that putting the title on Bayley elevates even higher in the division with Sasha and Charlotte. I wouldn't be surprised if Charlotte recaptures her title as I don't think this is the right time for Charlotte's PPV streak to be snapped, but then again, I didn't expect Bayley to win the title on Raw so we'll see if there are any more surprises up The Hugger's sleeve.

 

 

Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns

* No contest

 

 

It doesn't make sense for either man to lose going into WrestleMania with Braun being as unstoppable as he has been and with Roman Reigns being... well... Roman Reigns. If I had to pick someone to come out on top it would be Braun as he had the upper hand on Roman last week in a pretty epic ending to Raw. Plus it would do more good to him than to Roman to get a W in this match heading into the show of shows.

 

 

Sami Zayn vs. Samoa Joe

 

 

Possible MOTY candidate here. Will certainly be in the running for MOTN honours. Pretty fired up to see these two go at it on the main roster. Joe is pretty much a lock for this match, that is unless Seth Rollins has anything to say about it.

 

 

Cruiserweight Championship

Neville © vs. Jack Gallagher

 

 

Neville is still on a major roll right now as champion and I think it should stay that way heading into WrestleMania. My hope is they to a 6-man Ladder Match for Neville's title where Jack could win it there (because who doesn't wanna see a Mary Poppins spot from the ladder?). Looking forward to this one though as the build was enjoyable to watch, plus any time Jack wrestles a match it's surely gonna give me a good laugh one way or another.

 

 

Raw Tag Team Championships

Gallows & Anderson © vs. Enzo & Cass

 

 

I was ecstatic when G&A won the titles so I hope they have a solid run with them as I feel they've deserved them after struggling to find their stride after signing with The E. Now that they have, they've finally been booked a lot better and you can tell they're feeling a ton more confident. Zo & Cass will champs soon enough, but just let me enjoy this title run for G&A right now.

 

 

Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax

 

 

If rumours are to believed, then we're headed for a Fatal 4-Way for the Raw Women's title at Mania this year. If that's going to happen, I still think Nia needs to be built as a bigger deal than she is right now. They're on a good track with that after she pinned Bayley last week, so I would assume she rides that momentum into Fastlane and beats The Boss.

 

As for Sasha, if she's going to turn heel, losing here makes sense to put that into motion so that it can develop itself for the next few weeks. I'm interested to see if and how that's going to happen and what it'll mean for Bayley whether or not she keeps the title after Sunday.

 

 

Kickoff Match

Rich Swann & Akira Tozawa vs. The Brian Kendrick & Noam Dar

 

 

Solid Kickoff Match here and I think it'll be worth checking out. Wondering whatever happened to Kendrick's supposed feud with Tajiri, but I guess they're carrying it on in the form of this feud with Tozawa? I don't know. Anyways, that spot with the Foxy's flowers on 205 this week was classic storytelling and I can't wait for the payoff where Swann actually doesn't want Foxy at all.
