CM Punk going to be included? Why I think..

Recommended Posts

He might.. (Didn't want to be a click bait, genuine discussion).

If Brock Lesnar or Daniel Bryan are going to be the showcase story, surely CM Punk will be included? Praying so. Game is so empty without him or even his entrance music, it's a must.. And after the shit in 14 then being included in 15, it isn't off the table at all..

2K, he needs to be included!!!

The most successful era was the attitude, my favourite, wrestling hasn't been the same only last couple years it's coming back.. Yet, CM Punk is genuinely the best wrestler/person to ever step foot in that ring, so 2k, add that mofo..

Not a chance. They'll probably recap it though with a little video package like they did the Owen Hart feud in Stone Cold's showcase last year.

Thing is, after all that's gone and went on. He still was included in 2k15..

Then again, that weird spiteful shit they do, basically foundation of how they treat wrestlers is to spite him, because they didn't give it.. They even took Chicago off of 2k16 cos of him..

So maybe not.. BUT even a short video would be a royalty, so who knows?

How many of you thought cm punk would be in 2k15!!? And he had 3 titantrons both entrance themes, numerous attires..

Didn't he try suing WWE or 2K for including him in 15? I doubt they want to climb that mountain again. The only way he'll ever be playable is if him and WWE patch up their relationship. I really don't see that happening for a long time. Punk has said himself that he never wants to go back to WWE ever again. He said if he ever wrestled again, it wouldn't be for them. They say never say never, but the resentment is still there full force.

He sued them for not wanting to give him the extra pay for using likeness.

I'm sure he didn't sue them.. He openly got told by 2k and Paul Heyman he was gonna be used and was suppose to be the main cover until WWE themselves manipulated the situation to get him changed.

WWE didn't want him but 2k included. Paid him his royalties which WWE weren't happy about. His relationship with 2k is fine, it's WWE that he isn't.

I'm hoping they go the same route and overrule WWE again in terms of cm punk. He's a big sell point to hardcore fans/part time and mainstream fans.

Totally get your perspective though and again, I could be wrong with the above, only opinion.

You're confusing stories. The cover thing was for WWE'13, which ended up having CM Punk on the cover anyway.

There was no "relationship" issues in the first place. It's all a business thing. CM Punk left the WWE Roster and it was in his right to still be paid for his likeness in 2k15 regardless of that.

pressed enter before finishing.

Ah, I get ya now. Yeah I am. Remember punk saying Heyman was writing the stories for the game and come to think of it, 15 had no stories lol..

Punk would of been removed from 2K15 but they couldn't really do it due to the fact he was so heavily involved with the Showcase Mode. He then tried to sue them and there was a big controversy about it so there's no chance he'll be in.

Also Punk being in UFC is another thing to consider. WWE and UFC would have to come to an agreement for that.

It's just completely unrealistic. He won't ever be in again unless they patch things up and/or he returns in some capacity.

they can't overrule WWE on anything it there games they have the final say on everything they can't risk losing the license as im 100 percent positive that wwe has an exit clause like they did with thq in the contract

Meh. He's one character in a game that has 120+ characters. By no means is he "needed" and the game isn't lacking in any way without him IMO.

Can't see him being included purely because he's on bad terms with WWE right now. In theory 2K can work around that because the game deals are different than WWE deals, but I feel like Punk won't do anything involving WWE.
