The easy way to beat them is to put all your gear and enchantments on that give you maximum cooldown. Then you can just spam your weapon abilities.

 

Also if your having trouble now wait till you get to the final Valkyrie... she is not fun.

After beating the main game, I just went back and beat one of the valkyries on my first try. So, yeah...it was just too early to be fighting them. Also, made it pretty far on the Muspelheim challenges, but the one where you can't get hit a single time is a pain in my balls. Think it's the fifth of the sixth swords.

 

I really hate shit like that...because a lot of it comes down to luck. The way the camera is in this game, you just can't see everything that's happening at all times. Just has that obnoxious "oh, you made it this far?...would be a shame if you had to rage quit" feel to it...which I hate in games. I was actually enjoying the challenges up to that point. It's doable...but it's the kind of thing where I'm going to have to sit there trying and trying until it finally happens out of luck. Gotta know the exact spot that each enemy is spawning at, whether they have projectiles, whether there's a super fast enemy that is going to rush you, etc. So many annoying factors...

Just got to the bit where Atreus gets sick after his first feeling of Spartan Rage, and sweet tapdancing Christ, I just got the Blades Of *censored*ing Chaos. This feels epic as hell.

Finally finished this last night. What a brilliant game. Easily the best game on PS4 that isn't a remaster in my opinion, but I feel like we haven't had that many top tier games this console generation in general.

Something tells me we may get another God of War before this generation is over because I they did a fantastic job with pretty much all the elements of the game. I'd be fully onboard with a new game just depends how quickly they'd be able to get one finished.

Also anyone try playing the game on immersive mode? I think i played roughly 3 hours with all the hud but decided to try out immersive mode and haven't looked back since. The game looks even better l and I actually think immersive mode makes you invested in the combar more. I confess I ended up putting the hud back on for the first Valkyrie fight because she was kicking my ass over and over and I just couldn't get over that finish line.

I wouldn't make it without the hud.

 

Definitely guilty of watching the special attacks and hitting them the second they became available again. I know there is a little noise that indicates when they come back...but it would just be too much to keep track of.

I feel like that takes a little away from the game. Certain special attacks you just know by timing that you have it. I only used the rage when I was in a difficult fight too.

 

By the way, only game I can see coming close being as good as this is Red Dead Redemption 2.. Still standing by Zelda and Odyssey are as good though. Zelda would probably still be my GOTY if it came out the same year as GOW.

HOLY S*** ATREUS IS F***ING LOKI WTF. SOO GLAD that didn't get spoiled for me, Blades did, Baldor weakness did, ect. But that didnt. I SOO WISH I was recording that for my reaction.

 

 

GOW 2 was introduced to me by my best friend. I borrowed that first before 1 (Which I traded my Jacka** game for GOW 1 with my other friend years ago. Heck I got a PS3 mostly for GOW 3. (Which my friend beat in 1 night after Wrestlemania, with some help I've enjoyed everyone, except for Ascension I just couldn't get into it, one day. I was really skeptical about the change in weapons, myths, the son, different voice actor. But nope not anymore. This will go down as my favorite GOW game and one of my top favorites. I'll stop rambling, just had to say this

Beat Spider-Man now I'm diving back into this to finish New Game + on the hardest difficulty. I beat the first boss right before Spider-Man came out late Thursday night last week. Ugh wish me luck out there. Atleast I'm fully maxed out, and have the best Armor in the game, with that healing mists

just picked up GOW3 remaster for the PS4 as never got to play it on the PS3. my PS3 pooched out me just before GOW3 came out, now I can finally play it now that I have a PS4 (got the Spidey PS4) before I get GOW4

So I just finished regular NG but a lot of sidequests not done. I was thinking of just going to NG+ and complete those sidequests but I read there some missable stuffs I need to get before going in NG+.

 

Is that true? If so, is there a list of everything I must unlock before going to NG+?

Just watched that yesterday. Never really thought about the emotional side of things when it comes to making games. Crazy how much they sacrificed to make this great and to see all those years pay off at the end after so long. Great watch and I recommend it to anyone, but mostly people who beat the game. They show some spoilery scenes throughout.
