WWE Releases Discussion

The white IC title belt is one of my all time favorite belts. :(

Hard to top the WCW US and 2nd IWGP titles, though. Those are gorgeous.

Eh i prefer the Attitude Era IC belt. I just like the look of it overall. The current one looks good too but idk it doesnt really fit in this era to me.

I'm the same way. I like the other IC title better

That's like, one of the top looking belts they have right now and one of the best in history. I don't see how it's "ugly". Your opinion, but...

I mean, he obviously just doesn't like the look of it. I like the current Tag belts, A lot of people don't. I can see why they don't.

I don't hate the tag belts. I just wish they weren't bronze.

Rose released via request is probably just damage control, because he knew he would be fired anyway. Requesting your release to figure yourself out sounds a lot better than getting fired for being a mess.

Kane could be leaving to go into politics.

Crowley's the same dude who doesn't think a jobber has the right to want to accomplish more. I don't think anyone should be taking what he says seriously.

Dunno how long you've been here but its sad because he used to actually post some real intelligent and accurate shit. I'm convinced his account has been hacked.

Yeah, I legit did a double take when I wrote my response to his post...

If TNA are smart they will grab him and utilize the hell out of him straight away.

Nah, I can see them doing what WCW did with Bret.

Eh, at least he can defend his views well enough.

lol at Cody thinking he could have been a main eventer. Nope, tbh. Though, the least they could have done was give him the title and see. Hopefully he'll be happier and utilized better elsewhere, as it seems WWE is too political for people like him to succeed. The two head writers.... jeez.

I bet Punk wants to give Cody a high five, especially after Cody aired a dirty laundry.

Cody should have been a main eventer. It all went downhill since his tag team run with his brother. How does one go from i-c champion to jobber? He had to have backstage heat.

Aside from Cody whom I still think they could do so much with, I'm totally fine with the likes of Ryback, Rose, Titus and potentially others like Ziggler leaving. Even Barrett although I still think he could be much more. NXT is A cycle of great talent and overcrowding the roster is bad for everyone.

So you mean TNA will build their company around Cody? Because that's what WCW was going to do with Bret for the remainder of the 00's. And that was in effect until Goldberg inadvertently ended Bret's career. If so, I think that would be awesome for both Cody and TNA.

And Lol @ thinking Cody shouldn't have been a main eventer. But hey, we're all entitled to our opinions, mah dude.

No. He can formulate proper sentences and write long paragraphs but it doesn't hide the stupidity.

Recently released WWE announcer Rich Brennan appeared on The RCWR Show. Below are the highlights:

On Working With Booker Ts Promotion Prior to WWE:[/b] No, no in a lot of ways that was you know that was my entry into the company or my connection with the company. You know when I started doing Bookers show, I never you know and Ive said this before, I never had any intention whatsoever of going after pro wrestling as a career. You know I always thought that I would be calling, you know as I said calling hockey games. You know I remember going to the Dell Center in Montreal, Madison Square GardenYou know some of these buildings that were just kind of like these iconic buildings. You know Boston Gardens and you know going there to call stuff for WWE and it was just kind of interesting because you know again I always thought that if I got there to call on something Id be calling hockey games.

On Working With Vince McMahon in Your Ear: You know it wasnt as bad for me. I read Micks book and laughed when I read the whole thing about you know the Mr./Mrs. Magical and the magical headset and all that stuff. You know I think because in some ways Cole was there as the producer, I know a lot of things got filtered through him, so Im sure he was getting an earful and it was probably watered down and given to us. You know I do remember doing a Madison Square Garden show for the WWE Network and Cole wasnt there that night. Thats the reason that I was told to be available. But you know Vince was in my headset that night and every now and then you would hear him if you were talking at a point he didnt want you to talk as hed tell you. If you said something he didnt like, hed let you know but it wasnt abusive to me it and it wasnt over the top. Ive heard the stories as well about Vince getting upset and giving it to the announcers and I think a lot of that is a product of the fact that he was an announcer for so long and you know at the end of the day everything begins and ends with Vince and he knows what he wants. Its his product and he knows exactly what he wants and he has very expectations because he wants the product to be as good as it can be. So you know in a lot of ways I think that you understand that and just knowing that live TV is ait can be a very stressful and intense environment to begin with. You know Ive heard stories of producers and directors flipping out on camera guys and talent like outside of wrestling. You know in baseball or hockey or you know you name it. You know even in live TV news Ive heard that so its not uncommon. You know that said at times it can be a little much to be produced so much. Sometimes I think if you hold the reigns on too tight it really stifles the announce team because youre worried about what youre saying or youre worried about saying the wrong thing. You know at times it wouldve been nice just to you know Hey just go call the match and that did happen from time to time. So you know it wasnt as bad as I think a lot of people make it out to be. At the end of the day if you understand going into it the reason and you dont take it personal, because its not personal usually, you know sometimes it might be, but if you understand gong into it I dont think you have as hard of a time with it. Its still not easy to have somebody in your ear while youre trying to focus on five different things to begin with. But you know it is what it is, thats part of the job and if you dont like it you dont have to be there.

On Working With Jerry Lawler: Yeah, Jerry is obviously a legend. Hes obviously a legend in the business. Hes seen so much and understands so much about the business and he has the ability to just kind of see whats presented in front of him without having done a tone of prep work or whatever. You know he can literally walk out there to the announce table, put on the headset, and call the show, and have it make sense. Yeah he is one of a kind; hes amazing.

On WWE Hiring Mauro Ranallo: Yeah I wasnt really expecting it but in other ways maybe I was. You know when they did the move to USA, I guess I kind of figured that they were going to put Cole back on in that spot. You know at least for the first little bit but they had the opportunity to go and get a guy whos very well respected, a well-regarded combat sports announcer and I was disappointed for sure but I also understood why they wanted to do and it made sense. You know WWE in general wants anything that gives the companywhats the word Im looking forAnything that legitimizes the company from the outside the world, as well as legitimate sports, or you know entertainment, or anything like that. To bring in Mauro, who again you know showtime boxing, MMA, all that stuff. He was very well respected. New Japan Pro Wrestling, very well respected so I understood it and you know my attitude was theres plenty of work here for everybody and there was. He did Smackdown and I did Main Event and Superstars. Got to do some backstage stuff as well on RAW and Smackdown. So you know Mauros a good guy, excellent play-by-play announcer, and thats kind of where we at.

On His Release: When I was told that I was getting released there really wasnt any talk of anything like that. It was literally just post-WrestleMania budget cuts, were releasing you from your contract. That was that. You know in this business you never say never about anything. I dont know. You know Im still not really sure what the reason was. Im trying not to look too far back. Im trying to look ahead. I have my thoughts on potentially why I was released but you know it is what it is. Im trying to take the high road with things and you know move forward. You know if theres an opportunity down the line, who knows? But I mean Im not holding my breath for that.

Cody has a lot of heart and passion, He has valid reasons for leaving if that was true and if so then that's just a shame. Perhaps he does need a run somewhere else and TNA would probably push him big time but he can also do great in ROH or even become a great new character in Lucha Underground!

Remainder of 00s? Isn't that too late, given Bret went to WCW in 97? From the documentaries and Vince, WCW didn't seem to care much for Bret.

He doesn't look like main eventer or comes off as one. If he does, I haven't seen it.

It had more so to do with Hogans having creative control and the nWo getting most of the lime light. We're all at least some what familar with Hogan and Brets history.
