Released today:

  • Indus Sher (Jinder Mahal, Veer Mahan, Sanga)
  • Xia Li
  • Xyon Quinn

Were Indus Sher ever good? From what little I saw of them, boring and annoying.

They were really basic.

Not surprised. Not a fan of them speaking in Indian languages either, felt like obvious pandering rather than deserved.

I think it's only a shame that WWE undervalued him and kept him on the roster to waste valuable time. I really think we should stop looking at every release as a sad or "bad" thing. The landscape of pro wrestling in 2024 is absolutely insane. If a performer has undeniable talent, they won't be able to walk down the street without tripping on an opportunity.

A guy like Trevor Lee would be highly valued in any number of places. Probably not AEW, just because they really don't need another midcard guy. But, definitely NJPW or TNA...or even RoH or GCW.

There has been a lot of talk that NXT star Joe Gacy will be main roster bound very soon.  Gacy was spotted at WWE HQ in Stamford, CT earlier this week and we are told that visit was in relation to his eventual move to the main roster.

We wrote last week that there have been fears among NXT talents that releases may be coming.  We are told there have been indeed plans to make some cuts, mostly focused on talents who have not been used of late and who aren't currently in the creative mix.  More as we confirm.

Drew gulak gone..

PWInsider.com has confirmed the following WWE NXT talents were released today:

-Ezekiel Balogun.

-Julian Baldi.

-Trey Bearhill.

-Emmamaria Diaz, who was showcased on WWE Roku Channel series WWE: Next Gen.

-Valentina Feroz.

-Drew Gulak.

-Keyshawn Leflore, who was showcased on WWE Roku Channel series WWE: Next Gen.

-Darrell Mason.

-Vlad Pavlenko.

-Kiyah Saint.

Obviously, Gulak, who was involved in training Logan Paul and Bad Bunny, among others, is the highest profile name and one that immediately comes across as a mistake in my opinion, given everything he had done behind the scenes for the company.

There had been rumblings (and fear) over the last several weeks that releases were coming, as we had previously noted on PWInsiderElite.com.

Sources have stated that the cuts were primarily made due to the lack of current creative plans for those departing as they were not being utilized and were not planned for anything in the near future.  In the case of Gulak, he was stated to have been "taken care of" by the D'Angelo Family, implying he was well, sleeping with the fishes.

Turns out that Drew Gulak is not actually gone from WWE... yet - he has not been released, but his contract expires next month, and he has been told that it will not be renewed.

Apparently there is more to it than just the claims of sexual misconduct made by Ronda - this is taken from a post on Fightful Select:

Quote

In asking around with talent in NXT, several talent made claims that Gulak was a ‘bully’ who would often target injuries during matches with talent that were recovering from minor injuries at the time. One talent claimed that during a match with Gulak, the former No Quarter Catch Crew member purposefully re-dislocated a previously dislocated finger, while another claimed that Gulak would intimidate talent into not reporting the incidents.

Fightful also learned of an incident during an NXT taping last year where Gulak was verbally reprimanded by Shawn Michaels and NXT coaches for intentionally spiking an opponent during a match.

One NXT talent who worked with Gulak noted that he was “odd” in the sense that he would often ‘test’ talent to see if they would react to his bullying.
