PWInsider.com is reporting Damien Sandows WWE release was not due to anything Sandow specifically did, but the company felt it was time to change the roster up a bit.

Damien Sandows release was a surprise to many, but he is already taking independent bookings. Sandow will appear at live events in New York, New Jersey and Indiana among others, including an appearance with Jim Ross at Oklamania this July.

Sandow was part of last weeks WWE releases which also included Wade Barrett, Cameron, Alex Riley, Zeb Colter, El Torito, Hornswoggle and Santino Marella.

We've noted how there have been many rumors of more WWE releases being announced soon. According to PWInsider, another round of cuts is expected to be announced after the May 22nd Extreme Rules pay-per-view. WWE usually announces releases on Friday, which means they could announce the next set as soon as May 27th unless they decide to wait.

We've also been heard rumors of another surprising WWE release, a women's star and one who would be considered a top Superstar. It was noted that "stays of execution" are always possible for some talents who go through late negotiations but it sounds like officials already know who will be getting cut.

On a related note, word is that the releases are being made to clear the way for new signings. We noted before that it was implied to Damien Sandow that his release was a timing thing as the company felt it was the time to freshen up the roster, not because of anything he did. Vince McMahon mentioned during this week's First Quarter earnings call that over the next month or so the company will have more talents on the roster than ever before.

The Brooklyn Brawler, Damien Sandow, King Barrett, Hornswoggle, El Torito, Alex Riley, Zeb Colter, Santino Marella and Cameron were not the only 9 talents released from WWE last week as Christian was also released from his contract.
Christian's release did not have to do with his agreement to do The Edge and Christian Show and is more of a technicality of no longer having an active performer's contract, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Christian hasn't wrestled since his last concussion in March 2014 and WWE decided to stop using him due to his history of concussions. He remained under a performer's contract until now but he is still affiliated with the company.
The Observer reports that several internal lists were going around last week and two names on the list were Ryback and Adam Rose. Rose had been serving a 60-day suspension due to his second violation of the WWE Wellness Policy until he was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery and felony tampering with a witness this week in Florida. WWE then announced he was suspended indefinitely but it's possible he's released soon as he was already on the bubble. Cameron, who was not on the list, ended up being released.

We recently reported that the eight Superstars released on Friday May 6th might just be the beginning of ongoing company-wide terminations. Chances of it happening are very small (it'll probably be someone irrelevant) but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Paige asks for her release sooner or later. She looks so unmotivated and has done for a while now.

Guest Fight Me.

I think she's on the next season of Total Divas so I'd imagine they'd have her locked down until it finishes airing if she does end up doing that.

Edited by Fight Me.
