Ziggy Vercetti
"Sting's wrestling career is over ... TMZ Sports has learned. Long story short ... the wrestling legend messed up his neck real bad at his "WWE Night of Champions" match against Seth Rollins back in September -- and was never able to recover. Sources connected to Sting tell us he was evaluated by several doctors who all agree -- it's just too risky for the wrestler to get back in the squared circle ... so, he's decided to hang up his singlet. We're told the 56-year-old was formally diagnosed with cervical spinal stenosis -- a condition affecting the nerves that can result in extreme pain and discomfort. In fact, it's the same condition that forced fellow WWE superstar Edge to retire in 2011. Our sources tell us Sting may make his official announcement next month at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony in Texas ... but we're told it's a done deal. As far as Sting's future -- it's up in the air. We're told Sting is open to a non-physical role with the company ... but we're told no formal offer has been made. Sting was a legend in the ring ... rising to superstardom in the late '80s before becoming the face of the WCW and a huge fan favorite in the WWE." #Respect Salute to him for what he's done over the years. Twisted...
GM of RAW, appointed by Shane, if he wins at WM?
Crazy.
Should have never continued wrestling at that age. Blessing in disguise for him, really. Had a great career either way, even if he should have stopped much sooner. Keep him away now.
The D
At least he came to WWE and had two great matches. It's a shame that he didn't win in WWE but his match against Rollins showed that he could still really go.
Creepia
That sucks for him and that sucks for professional wrestling. I enjoyed his WWE run, but its clear he perhaps went one too much. Still, I'm sure he'll do well for himself in the future.
Muur
Retires with a 100% losing record #respect In all seriousness, sucks for him and I wish him all the best in his retirement.
Bushy.
Should've had the dream match at least then hang it up. Oh well, is what it is
Steve Carell
I enjoyed his WWE run. Favorite moment was the big black bat destroying Triple H and his sledge hammer. At least we'll get to have him in the video games for the rest of eternity. (I hope.)
JGPLX.
Such a shame his WWE run wasn't up to par, but a legend of the ring nonetheless who had a terrific career.
Willows Way
Lots of respect for Sting. Its just such a bitter pill personally that we finally got Sting in WWE and we will still never get Sting vs Undertaker. However i did enjoy his run in WWE, his feud with Triple & his match with Rollins and it was just great to see him. I think his HOF speech is going to be very emotional now. Guest
Retires with a 100% losing record #respect In all seriousness, sucks for him and I wish him all the best in his retirement. Sting and Cena beat Seth and Show on Raw. But yeah, shame he didn't win his only Mania match but at least he made it. Respect.
AlterNation
Respect to Sting. He's had a fantastic career. Retires with a 100% losing record #respect In all seriousness, sucks for him and I wish him all the best in his retirement. Stig and Cena beat Seth and Show on Raw. Also won by DQ against Big Show just prior to that tag match.
Kirky
Shame he didn't make the jump sooner... so many dream matches we missed out on. Plus he seemed very happy in the WWE as well so it sucks to see it was cut short I'm glad we didn't see Taker/Sting during his short time here though. JGPLX.
And his last match was a WWE Championship PPV main event, not a bad way to go.

BestInTheWorld614
I'm glad Taker vs Sting didn't happen. It's one of those matches that we can always wonder what would happen. If it did happen, it would have been underwhelming imo.
Lyriqz ✪
Lol. What a shitty run all around, both in front of the camera as well as for the person. Must feel kinda bad. Hope whatever he does next works out for him better.
M3J
Good news he can't wrestle, shitty news he can't completely recover. At least he'll be better off not stepping into the ring again.
Future™
wishing the best of luck for him in the future. he should've gone to WWE and not waste his time as Joker in TNA few years ago.
classiq.
Lucky enough for him he had two great matches in WWE. We'll see what kind of role he ends up with behind the scenes.
E#37
Not surprised. This day had to come sooner rather than later, given his age.
RatedDXLegend
Not to be said as joke but, does this make Rollins the new Legend Killer seeing that this was caused with the turnbuckle spot? I'm wondering if Rollins is gonna use this when returns.
Vapor
What a career and this finally puts the Taker speculation to rest. Can't say I'm too pleased with his WWE run though.
