Well, I remember seeing it a lot around a while ago. Might have been before the rules were fixed up a bit. It's still appears quite a lot in avatars and signatures though.

Personally think there just isn't enough activity on the site anymore. Like Mustacio said topics should be open longer. It's like there's a lot less going on here. I remember when all the sections were busy. Even that shitty fan club section use to have loads of activity .

 

Anyways, I just think a lot of members takes this site way too serious. Baring in mind now the only sites I really use are YouTube and Facebook. I probably just grew out of using Internet forums tbh because I had a lot less time and other responsibilities as I got older. I check this site every now and then to see if anything new is going on or what people think about a certain game or something, football thread is still worth checking up now and then to see Some funny chat but even that is no where near as active.

 

Basically if I was to use a forum, even if I was a wrestling fan, it wouldn't be this one simply because how inactive it is. Something needs to change to bring the interest back.

I remember when I first started here, there were plenty of people who were *censored*s to those who weren't in their clique. That was around 2008.

Anyway, I have a weird relationship with this forum; I still come to this place everyday, but 95% of my time on here is spent lurking. Idk, I don't wanna stop visiting this forum, but it just doesn't engage me like it used to when I was, like, 14.

I don't buy into the whole "you're not allowed to disagree thing". I think if anything, members were a lot harsher back when I started. When I started I was awful, but I improved cause older guys like Anti-Saint, iSlash, Mustacio, and probably some others would busted my balls whenever I did something stupid. I probably could have has the choice to report them, but I didn't. I oftentimes will go in the report section for a good laugh. People can be such crybabies. I feel like I was whipped into shape. I never was forced to change my opinions or anything about me, it was simply aggressively suggested to me to stop being a little dipshit if I didn't want to be a complete joke on here. And in time these same people who were callin me a dickhead were giving me praise. I don't know if I support old guys picking on new guys, but I feel like it gets results.

I wasn't gonna make a post initially because I barely visit the forum and post even less than that nowadays. Most of the time, I'm here to have banter and make witty comments (all harmless of-course). Some of you may think that's all i do but every now and then, if there is a good discussion going on or a root of a subject which is up for a good debate, I like to contribute on a serious note. The thing is, it is a very rare occurrence. And even then, topics with good or humorous discussion end up getting closed prematurely imo. We are on a dying *censored*ing forum and we all know what the reason for that is.

 

I saw the word veteran being thrown around. Seriously? wtf is that shit? First off, this is not a job or the military where you have given your service for more than other people and are now veterans and know their shit more than others. Someone could join the forum today and be hell of a lot more intellectual than all these 'veterans' and every member on this forum. Just because you have been on this forum longer than others doesn't automatically mean you are more credible or smarter than members who joined recently.

 

 

I also saw that some people said they are not able to recognize or distinguish members apart from a few (which actually doesn't make sense to me because unless two or more members have the same display name) and a lot of people got offended on the low key and started giving explanations and shit and well this discussion right here is born out of that subject alone if I understood correctly. I'm just gonna say to people who got offended, who cares man, that's their opinion. You don't have to justify yourself to someone on the internet if they think you are too generic. It's their opinion and it might be correct and you are not noticeable as others but that's how the world works. Some people are able to express themselves with a lot more conviction through the medium of writing, some are able to do it in person a lot better etc. Stop explaining yourself and your ways.

 

I have grown out of telling people to stop taking the internet seriously, take a chill pill, go out, get a life blah blah blah! Because like that shit is petty and lame and also disrespectful. I don't take the forums seriously myself but I'm no one to tell you what you should take seriously and what you shouldn't. I have understood overtime that you cannot apply moral right or wrongs to a person's choice of spending their time, their priorities and the order of importance they apply to these priorities. It's your life. If you enjoy web forums and take that shit seriously, more power to you. But if you do, you gonna have to deal with stuff like this. It's the internet. Not everyone is gonna agree with your opinion. Not everyone is gonna recognize you. You gonna have to learn to live with it.

Okay, since I'm the only one in this topic who referred to himself as a vet, I am obligated by myself to point out that I wasn't being serious in the slightest. I was faux-boasting. So I hardly consider myself better or more credible because I've been here longer. I'm better because I'm officially the funniest member of the year, who should be made a moderator, but that's a different story. I realize it couldn't even been directed at my comment, as people spoke of vets in that other topic, but I can't help myself not to respond.

My input on the whole thirsty,lusting over women bs since it seems to find its way to get brought up in similar threads like this by the same person. Was gonna keep my mouth shut about it like I did in the past but *Censored* it.

 

Don't see nothing thirsty about having women in avys or sigs or even posting them. The word thirsty needs to be dropped by the way,so 2013 ish but anyway. Why is it such a big deal? I mean goddamn, so I and a few others like women that look good with a nice body and want to post them in the rightful threads. As for the avy/sig thing,who even stares at those things for no less than a few seconds? You mean to tell me that you get so turned off by what you see in that amount of time? I mean some of y'all act like its Playboy and pornstar central around here. If that's the case then,CAWs should go on full censorship for future female postings,avys and sigs.

 

I've seen such posting in a thread similar like this one that Ernez started a year or so ago like if this or that is done or said about a women then we won't get far irl with real women or some ish like that... First off how do you know that? By justifying what you see from your point of view? Nah. Goes back to that judgement shit I was speaking on. On my end when it comes to females and such on here, some might think I see every woman as a piece of meat because of what I do or used to do but it's completely different from what goes on in real life. I know I used to say "mami,beautiful,etc" and other cringeworthy things long ago but I stopped. I was somewhat young,don't judge me pls. But anyway, I got a high respect for women and half the shit I used to do I wouldn't dare do to a female that I would want to talk to or have talked to. Can't say the same for some of my friends though But yeah don't make it seem like it's just women getting posted in every section on the board. If it seems that way then you're putting yourself in the position to see that stuff constantly and shouldn't be the one to complain about it when you do see it. Not hard to avoid if you don't wanna see any of that.

I don't think it's fair to just expect members to have more or different personality. People are the way they are and trying to get them to act in a manner that they don't usually just to make conversation more interesting is a living breathing recipe for disaster.

I am one of the people who've had attractive women avatars, but I really never gave a *Censored* about what avatar is what unless it's something offensive. Yes, it looks bad, but honestly, who gives a *Censored*? This has never really been brought up until now. Like, if anyone had said something, could I have changed it? I could have, but avatars and signatures are symbols of artistic/visual freedoms of a user, so nobody can really control that unless CAWs' rules drastically changes.

 

Also, it's always difficult to have activity on a dying forum, that's always the case. CAWs is probably the largest wrestling forum I am on, and with some life in it, it's a wonder that it's still alive. How can we as a community fix the activity on here? Spread the word? How well would that work? WWE 2K16 season should've somewhat revived the activity on the site but it hasn't worked out too well. I'm not an expert on reviving forums, so I honestly don't know.

Surprised anyone even remembers me mentioning that once I wanted a more general forum rather than one aimed at a video game that comes out once a year and is active for 3, maybe 4 months of the year and then I get the blame as to why there's nothing to be said about a 9 month-old game. Heh. I apologize for the lack of software updates, and skins n such. My hands are tired and I've been promised them since 2013 too. We just gotta run with what we got sadly but we seem to manage well as a community. The forum was always my baby, per say. Main site was always someone else's, I have miniscule powers over it. We may not all get on, but compared to most places we seem more down to earth for the most part and I think the try hard nature dyed down thankfully.

It's funny how some of the names that get dropped alongside "veteran", like me and Ollie, are below 10k posts. We've both been here for 10 years come february, but we've been nowhere near as active as a lot of other members.


Also veteran is a stupid term, tenure has nothing to do with quality - but it still makes sense that more and more people know "the old man in the corner" as new people come and go, but the old man stays.

I agree about topics being open longer, and mods shouldn't just close a topic because a few ass holes take things way off topic. I've seen some threads that are getting dozens of posts a day that suddenly get closed because the mod had enough from two or three guys arguing about some other shit.
