As noted, WWE recently signed CMLL and NJPW star La Sombra (Manuel Alfonso Andrade Oropeza) and hes now training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.

It was reported back in the summer that WWE had interest in signing Sombra and now word is that he gave his notice to CMLL in August some time.

Several sources believe WWE has picked up a great talent in Sombra as hes known to be very professional. He carries a lot of pride but hes good at what he does and some feel he could be the top Latin star that WWE is looking for. Sombra has potential to be a big crossover star in the United States and speaks English well.

Theres been no indication that he will wear a mask in WWE but Dr. Lucha Steve Sims recently noted on Wrestling Observer Live that Sombra may have more charisma without the mask. The feeling was that the mask made Sombra more generic and he had to work harder to overcome that.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio backed up the reports on Sombras character, noting that he wont rub people backstage the wrong way and has a good chance at making it as a big star in WWE.

Not sure if this falls under NXT...

- WWE talent Zamariah “ZZ” Loupe was recently injured at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando during a training session. He's expected to be out of action for up to 6 weeks.

The incident was described as a case of miscommunication but most of the blame was put on ZZ for not paying attention. There's definitely a feeling among some that ZZ does not have a very bright WWE future.

ZZ was the male runner-up on the most recent season of WWE Tough Enough. It was announced in late October that WWE had signed ZZ, as well as 4 other competitors from the show, to developmental deals.

Why would this Sombra guy rub people the wrong way?

Not sure, but perhaps because the original Sin Cara rubbed a lot of people the wrong way and ended up not getting a big push like they had planned when they signed him and had that big press conference just for him. And they hope Sombra doesn't turn out to be a similar case, that's what I got out of it at least.

I would wait until NXT finishes but this is big time speculation...

There have been a few WWE talents trying to recruit ROH stars Bobby Fish and Kyle OReilly as NXT is looking to load up on talents for more touring in 2016. Contract negotiations between ROH and the two wrestlers known as reDRagon recently stalled.
