Doesn't a Gold Cup win mean a Confederations Cup spot? Or at least a easier road to it. Last year the US sent a B/C squad as a extended audition to the World Cup.

Yes. Confed is the winner's of all 6 football federations cups, the World Cup winners and the next World Cup host. It's officially as rehearsal of the next years World Cup.

Since the Gold Cup is every two years it works a little differently. The two winners between the Confeds have a play off, unless a team wins both. So if the USA win the Gold Cup they'll go to the Confed without a play off having won the 2013 one but should anyone else win, they'll play the USA in a play off to determine who goes.

So basically, 2013 winner vs 2015 winner for the Confed spot.

We've signed Derik Osede from Real Madrid. He's coming from RM even if it's their U21 but he's gotta be good.. right? played at every Spain youth level too. Anyone know anything?

We also sold a player to Wigan - whilst the rivalry lives on, the lad (Odelusi) was never getting into our first team and Wigan signing our shit kids in funny in a way.

Also we sold Baptiste to Boro. ...Well we let him go for free to free up his wages for Osede. Dougie really screwed the lad over and he's hada grudge since. Walking penalty anyway.

Productive day for the White Men.

The way I look at it in international competition, it's the World Cup first, then the Eurocup, Copa America, ConFed Cup, then the Gold Cup based solely on the US, Mexico, and perhaps Costa Rica or El Salvador being involved, then it's a toss up between Africa and Asia.

Yeah, they just can't register them. They can sign for the club, just not able to play until January.

Darmian is the latest RB we've been linked with. Seems very highly rated over there anyway.

Another case of the British media really having no clue about what we're doing if we sign Darmian in the next few days. Been nothing about it over here.

On The Telegraphs website they have labelled Nani a flop and asked the question 'does he make it onto your list of worst signings?'

That's ridiculous to say, really is. Was he frustrating? Yes. Was he a flop? Not at all. Think he picked up the most assists two seasons in a row & was our player of the year when we won the title in 10/11. He definitely had another level he could have gone on to perform at but to label him a flop is ridiculous.

I know it's only The Telegraph but still...

Fair play to Sterling/Ward for trying every possible excuse no matter how stupid it sounds.

Hah, just seen Berahino has cut ties with Ward. Can't say that's surprising given how he treats his clients. Feel a bit sorry for Arsenal fans knowing this *Censored* represents Oxlade-Chamberlain, good luck with that if he fills his potential.
