JR and King are wrestling guys, they have stated many times that their emotions for some major moments were real because they wanted authentic responses for the crowd. I'm sure it's hard to read a script and relieve something and try to reach that same emotion. I never understood why they wouldn't just try to use and edit the broadcast

That's what annoyed me with 13 the most, it sounded great when they used the actual audio clip then they would switch to the recorded lines.

You can read off a script and still show emotion. Just like a voice actor would do for a cartoon or anime

But King and JR aren't voice actors, they are wrestling commentators. I'm sure it's very difficult to sit in a small room and read a script trying to pretend you are seeing something for the first time

Bullshit, the NBA commentators show just as much emotion in the NBA 2K games as they do in reallife when something exciting happens during a game.

This has bothered me from day one (WWE 13). Why the hell do they not simply use the original audio from the broadcast?

I wondered that too but I think it's probably because they were still referring to it as WWF at the time and stuff.

I'm sorry but calling a NBA game and calling a WWE show seems very different to me. Plus for NBA they allow them to have conversations. Tey did that a little for Showcase mode last year but most of it is just the reading of seperate lines.

There is no excuse for commentary to be as bad as it is. It seems like they put in no effort but to just record a bunch of general unrealistic lines and dump em into the game.

I despise the "___ has an assortment of dangerous moves like the ____" lines. That's not real. They need to put more time and effort into it while letting Lawler and Cole just talk like they do on TV.

I don't know how it confirms LOD but Austin,HBK and LOD would be nice

In the video description, it says what match it was for.

I don't remember that match but 1997 was early attitude era and so if it was for Austin's showcase then hopefully it covers his career afterall than just that era.
