The term "fanboy" is thrown around when someone can't come up with a better argument once they're confronted in a debate over something they've said or believe regarding a piece of entertaining media.

Or in shorter terms, if you have to resort to calling someone a fanboy, then your argument loses its weight.

Nonsense. At worst, it applies to 90% of the time people call someone else fanboys.

Have you got the attention span of a shoe or something M3J... The Dark Knight is going down as one of the best movies of the last decade. Rightfully so. Some of the best movies are long. Also Nakamura, to say the writing "wasn't bad", is an injustice. TDKR wasn't as good but again that was a great film too.

You're right, the writing was pretty great in The Dark Knight but quite good in Rises. I wouldn't say it was a great film.

Everybody that dislikes Man of Steel or BvS is called a "Marvel fanboy" by default for some reasons.

Nah, for some reason, he just seems so defensive of BvS against anyone bringing up a negative opinion of it.

BvS tried to pack too much into a single movie. Rarely any superhero movie should be that long; TDK and TDKR were pretty long, and it felt like a chore to finish.

TDK was fine. I personally thought it was quite interesting from start-to-end. Mainly because of Heath's performance, but the writing and directing wasn't bad either.

Rises just felt kind of like a chore because Bane, in retrospect, wasn't that interesting.

TDK wouldn't have been as praised or successful if it weren't for Heath, tbh. I can see why people say it's one of the best, and I thought it was a very good film, but it's just too long, and it hurts the excitement. Easily better than BvS though.

Eh yeah, but that statement honestly sounds as vague and evasive as mine may have sounded.

TDK wasn't really a mediocre film relying fully on one lead antagonist, as much as (like you said) it was a really good one helmed by a fantastic performer.

So I don't see what the complaint is here. If you found the movie really good overall, how could it have been "too" long?

I'd like to know what casual fans have in this anyway. I've seen the most vocal opinions in casual fans than I have in marvel fanboys through this. Casual fans usually like the movie for what it is or they don't and then move on. However for movies like this they hang around on the Internet for weeks to make sure they let everyone know how bad they think it was and that they want Justice League to be different like they all of a sudden give a shit. A movie that was closer to the comics than most DC and Marvel movies to date and even filmed with the structure of a comic. Where the hell were you when they made the xmen movies? Or Hulk(both), or the Thor movies? It's like everyone wants this movie to fail or to be like the newer Marvel movies. It wasnt perfect by any means but all opinions aside, this was far from trash compared to some. Everyone will go love Civil War and they've already changed so much from the comic. I'm sure I'm gonna like it too because I like comic book movies but it isn't what it's supposed to be. I get no one gives a shit about the source material but if you don't like BvS for being different then move on to the next one. Let them do their thing and it'll be good. It can't be worse than the ones above. Everyone complained about Snyder but why does Bryan Singer still have Xmen?

Because it felt dragged on. A movie doesn't have to be great overall for it not to feel like that, and even some of my favorite movies have that. However, Eckhardt and Bale were also great, if not Eckhardt. Though Heath gets the most attention, Eckhardt has also received his fair share of attention (and praises from what I know), and rightfully so.

I don't understand why people aren't happy with BvS not having as much humor. If anything, that should be a plus. Granted different writers and all, but Marvel's humor can get pretty irritating and bad.

I think Singer has turned X-Men around. I think since First Class they've been pretty good. Better than the originally trilogy IMO atleast. Apocalypse looks like it could be along the same level if not better than Days. I do think they should hand the reigns off to another director though. I think he's maxed out with those films and it would be nice to have a fresh take on the universe. Especially now that Deadpool was so successful ... And good.

Also while I have called myself a casual fan in the past I'm probably not, really. I'm heavily invested in these movies and the lore connecting it all. I just not heavily informed on the source material. Game of Thrones & LOTR are my jam for that sort of thing.

I dislike BvS because I thought it was genuinely bad. It looked pretty, had some cool action and had some good performances, but the bad outweigh the good. For me. Again, I enjoyed it less than the worst Marvel movie and by that I mean the worst MCU movie not Marvel movies from other studios such as FOX.

Fair enough. We can agree to disagree on BvS. You still have far better reasons than most I've seen. Then again it is the internet. Where no one is happy lol. I agree about Singer too. After Deadpool, it almost seems like nows a good time to go in a different direction. It would be good to introduce a new wolverine too. Apocalypse looks like it'll be decent but my god the character Apocalypse looks ridiculous compared to what he should look like. Of course Fox really has never cared what we think. Bastards.

Not sure if this was already talked abouto. But I was doing some thinking and as we know Ben afflecks batman doesn't really mind killing, so why would the joker be around. He's got no problem killing henchmen but he keeps the joker around? Which made me think two things, either the rumor about Jared letos joker formerly being Robin is true, which would make sense that batman wouldn't kill him OR batman killed the joker and is already dead during bvs, and any joker scenes in suicide squad or upcoming batman films are flashbacks/prequels. Just some shower thoughts lol figured I'd share

Maybe in the Affleck Batman universe the Joker was a pornstar on the side and he (Bruce Wayne) enjoyed watching his porn films? Just a bit of food for thought there from my perspective.

I can only hope we get Nightwing in the future. Hell, I think he'd be more popular for a stand alone film than someone like Samoan tribal Aquaman.

As for Jason Todd, I sorta figured but its nice to get it confirmed. Reckon they'll go the Red Hood route or just keep him dead?

Me too dude, me too. Nightwing deserves his big screen success.

As for Todd. They could do A hybrid of Red Hood/Arkham Knight? They don't like to copy stories out-right and I could see them doing something like this.

Also I may be the only one looking forward to Aquaman's movie more than the others. The look of his character isn't preferable, but I'm really hoping they make Aquaman not look like A joke superhero in the eyes of the public. We can blame Big Bang Theory for that one .

We can blame this :hqhq:

I'm interested in how the Aquaman solo movie and he in the JL movie will play out though. Introducing Nightwing would be great too, and could possibly branch out to a Teen Titans movie in the future (although Cyborg is with the JL so idk how they would do that)

Nah, I am quite excited for Aquaman too, I just meant the general public would likely have the family guy scenes/bbt of Aquaman in their head and he'll be seen as a jokey character  I'm hyped for all the DC films tbh, just because I've waited so long for something like this. Hell, I'm even coming round to suicide squad as much as i hate Leto's Joker design so far.

The closest we've gotten to Nightwing in films was Robin's costume in Batman & Robin... *shudder*

Or it could be that the Joker is too good to be killed by the Batman. Hasn't he always come back in the comics regardless of how he lost?
