Let me talk about Lil Dicky...

Is seen some people post videos about him which I listened too and made nothing of it. I think properly listened to some of his stuff and it's good. His new album which I'm sure some people have, is it basically like any other white guys rap album (apart from Eminem of course) where they rap about being awkward and try and make jokes? If his album is actually about music and not skits then I might get it because he has got talent.

Guys, I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with Hellfyre Club (has members in it, like Open Mike Eagle - who dropped a pretty great album last year, Dark Comedy, and Nocando) but Milo just dropped a record recently and it is sweeet.

Should give it a listen, only 30 mins. long too, so pretty short and high on replay value:

Songs -

(Hemlock Ernst is Sam Herring from Future Islands, btw...insane)

Drake's definitely got video of the year with this one.

Also that's just a lookalike at the end right? Or actually Serena?

Yeah, I heard a lot of criticisms that he can tend to just babble on too much unnecessary stuff in his rhymes. But still, he is coming through with some sharp as hell wordplay and flows so def. give it a try out.

It's a chill project, too, so don't go into it expecting outright bangers

I'm surprised at how much more accessible/listenable this album is compared to his older works. Animist straight out sounds like it could've been off Because the Internet. Definitely better than Toothpaste Suburb. It is pretty chilled out though, lyricism and production on point as usual.

Nah, no way. I like the Hotline Bling video a ton, but there are way better videos than that, lol.

And yeah, I'm surprised that Kenny Segal (electronic producer) made such chill ass production on this...like, the beat on Going No Place, the sample, is so beautiful. I could like listen to that forever and yeah, Milo is coming through with a ton of fire.

Hellfyre Club, in general, is beginning to gain my attention. Listened to Dark Comedy a few times, and was like, "Why didn't many people talk about this, man?"

I don't know if it's the 'best' video of the year, but in terms of being memorable and having an impact I would be happy to see him take some awards home for it. Only other videos I can think of are Alright and King Kunta. Maybe the Find Your Wings half of Tyler's latest video.

I just found out that Anderson Paak is a part of their team, so there's another big win for them lol. Dark Comedy was dope too, I especially loved the song with Hannibal Burress. I need to check out Busdriver and that compilation album they all put together for the label.

Meek legitimately bothers my soul.

It's like he doesn't remember what happened last time he went at another rapper in the internet, and Wale will probably wash him too. Meek addicted to taking L's.

Not to be a complete dick.. but, that review was horrific.. Like 3 paragraphs of the actual music on the album, and the rest is you just trying to be clever.

Yeah, I think I touched a lot more on the background history than I did the album itself. Truth be told, I had a lot of assignment work on my plate so I do think if I had more free time on my plate: it could have come across better.

Also, some people have told me that I should consider shortening my stuff so I tried to keep it as concise as possible. Thanks for the comment, though.

Yeah, true, I loved the Find Your Wings version hahaha. I just loved how goofy and nostalgic the band looked, and the sound quality was also amazing. Errrrm...I'm pretty sure there are some videos that came out, that haven't come to mind yet.

Anderson .Paak is a part of Hellfyre? Oh, wow, didn't know that. Speaking of him, what projects of his should I check out?

Yeahhhh, omg, that Hannibal Buress verse was spectacular. That line about porn memberships :XD:
