NostalgiaGod Posted June 3, 2015 Report Share Posted June 3, 2015 To be quite honest, Em hasn't been truly truly been an overall genius since The Eminem Show maybe even Encore. I'm talking as a cohesive and overall amazing album. Relapse had some hiccups so it was a solid album but it wasn't a masterpiece. Recovery overall to me was worse than Relapse production wise. Lyrically wise Eminem was better on Recovery. Although, Underground from Relapse is the standout from Relapse. That one song alone rivals most his shit from 02-04 but again I'm talking as a cohesive album. MMLP2 isn't bad but it's not as gritty as I would've loved it to be or sharp as I figured it would be. It lacks something. His freestyles and cyphers are still crazy. But his albums lack that vibe they used to have man. I miss when it was just him and Dre on the boards to be real.
