Will Ospreay recently spoke with ESPN, and when asked about going to WWE, he discussed his current contract status

I am contracted. At the end of it, Im with Ring of Honor, Im with New Japan. Ive got no choice. They say jump, I saw how high? Would I like to change? Absolutely, but I need to able to show them Im worth something now, and this is how Im gonna do it. Im gonna spend two years with Ring of Honor under contract, and then Im gonna say, Hey, Im gonna do what I want to do. I want to be able to offer them something by going around and performing, not just at Ring of Honor, not just at New Japan, but the world. Does that mean I want to go to WWE? Not right now, no, cause its not what I want. I just want to be me and I want to be happy. My happiness comes way before priorities.

Marty vs. Ospreay and Dragon Lee vs. Hiormu Takahashi from day 1, damn those matches were good.

Lee vs. Hiromu was completely different from the match they had a few months ago, and eventhough they've faced eachother countless of times they still manage to keep it fresh. Dragon Lee seems to have adopted a few of his brothers moves since being in NJPW last time, also seems to have bit more attitude now with the way he carries himself.

Hiromu suffered his first singles loss since coming back to NJPW. And for those ondering, yes Hiormu brought the scrapbook to ringside, gave it to Milano to look after it during the match.

Biggest day 1 upset had to be El Desperado defeating KUSHIDA.

– Tomoaki Honma was moved to a rehabilitation hospital in Osaka where he began muscle training, under doctor permission, along with light running. At this time he has no discharge date.

– Following surgery for a subdural hematoma, Katsuyori Shibata has been moved to the hospital’s general ward. He is walking and talking, but NJPW said, “it is impossible to comment right now on any possible after-effects due to his condition.”

BOSJ Day 1 spoilers:

Great to see Marty Scurll in New Japan, awesome to see he's over too. Glad Ospreay is back to the tights, looks much better than the trunks. These two had a great match, which isn't surprising at all. Before Marty joined Bullet Club I thought he'd be losing this match but it made sense that he won and it was really smart to have his first match in New Japan to be against Ospreay. Oh yeah and Ospreay mimicking Orton was amazing

I haven't seen Dragon Lee since his last match with Hiromu but was it me or did he look bigger? Like the Ultimate Warrior of the Junior Heavyweights. Anyways, this was a phenomenal match. I don't think I'll ever get tired of watching this two fight. Oh yeah, also what the *Censored* happened to Dragon Lee's awesome dubbed theme? :(

Biggest day 1 upset had to be El Desperado defeating KUSHIDA.

I had actually predicted that would happen. My predictions were (and still are) for the finals to be Hiromu vs KUSHIDA with Hiromu winning (and KUSHIDA getting depressed) and then challenging Dragon Lee for Dominion. I think Hiromu is winning all of his remaining matches so the only rightful challenger is Lee.

PS: It's crazy to me that Dragon Lee is only 22.

- On May 16, New Japan Pro Wrestling President, Takaaki Kidani, unveiled the company's plans both in Japan and the U.S. With projected sales of 4.5 billion Yen (roughly $45 million) in 2018, NJPW is looking to boost the company through a "Live, Digital, and Global Strategy."

In regards to the live strategy they want to sell 40,000+ tickets at the Tokyo Dome for their annual Wrestle Kingdom event by 2020, along with an increased house show attendance. Digital strategy involves a goal of 100,000 subscribers to NJPW World, which would make it Japan's biggest streaming service. They are currently at 50,000 with 10,000 of those outside of Japan. NJPW World was recently redesigned for easier navigation for their overseas fans and will be adding Chromecast and Amazon Fire TV as new ways to access the service. Global strategy includes the upcoming G1 Special, along with "a functioning US subsidiary next year, as well as a dojo based in America, and the IWGP US title announced at ROH's War of the Worlds event this past weekend."

You can read the full article here: https://www.njpw1972.com/8322. As a reminder, NJPW will be holding a U.S. Press Conference later today at 7pm EST, which you can watch on their English Facebook page by clicking here: https://www.facebook.com/newjapaneng/.

- NJPW Star, Hiroshi Tanahashi is out of action as he ruptured his right distal bicep tendon during his tour in North America. He was scheduled to work non-tournament matches during the Best of the Super Juniors 24 tournament, but will instead be out until a June 9 event. He's also scheduled to work their Dominion show on June 11.

Guest Fight Me.

People who find it hard to watch Naito disrespect the IC belt should probably avoid day 2 of the BOSJ that was held earlier today.

Can't wait lmao.

New Japan Pro Wrestling owner Takaaki Kidani announced some big plans for his promotion in the coming years … including an expansion branch in the United States!

Kidani addressed the future of NJPW at a press conference in Tokyo on Tuesday, and said he intends to have a fully operational U.S. subsidiary along with a new dojo in 2018.

The promotion owner spoke confidently about fan interest here in the States, referencing how the G-1 Climax special events in Long Beach sold out in just two hours and said (in Japanese) “… personally, I think we can run in buildings twice that size.”

He also wants to sell NJPW television content to American cable networks.

Kidani brought up the recent injuries sustained by Katsuyori Shibata and Tomoaki Honma, saying he wants to “closely re-examine everything” when it comes to the safety of NJPW wrestlers competing in Japanese strong style.

You can check out a full recap of the press conference HERE.

Did he literally shit on the belt this time?

First he threw it on the steel ringsteps when he entered the ring. Then after the match he threw it full force into the ring post. The result was a big dent in the centerpiece.
