King of Sports: New Japan Pro-Wrestling Discussion Thread

Has anyone watched their Revpro match from a few years ago? Need to check it out. Think it was their only singles.

Kinda crazy that Ospreay is only 24 and has such a huge repertoire of great matches. If his body holds up and he moves on to Heavyweight there's a big chance he'll be one of the GOATs.

According to Dave Meltzer (via cagesideseats.com), the NJPW tour of Australia is being considered a financial success. In Adelaide alone, they did 200,000 in ticket & merchandise sales. Merchandise sales have reportedly been great at all the shows, with the feeling that NJPW should have brought more. The company is pleased with the tour, especially since they dont have TV in Australia.

Guest Fight Me.

Damn, that sucks. :/ Aren't he and Sanada still tag champs? Time for Bushi or Hiromu to bulk up to heavyweight lol. Would be cool if Naito held it for a bit too. Have they ever done tbe Freebird Rule in Japan?

Los Dos Peligrosos actually got a Jr. Tag Title match at one of the Honor Rising shows.

That pop for the Golden Lovers today was crazy.

I popped in my pants.

Anyways, just finished watching the show. Cody has come such a long way in the last year or so. I remember watching his match with Juice at WK 11 and being like 'this guy has no idea what his gimmick is, does he?' and now he's finally got it all together and I hate him. And that's good! That main event was really great, so weird and awesome seeing Kenny and Ibushi together again.

Btw, the Young Bizzles vs Finlay and Juice match was great too, 2nd best match of the night. Was kinda disappointed with KUSHIDA vs Hiromu vs Gordon. Beer City Bruiser was kinda entertaining but he needs to stop taking crazy ass bumps on his knees, I cringed so hard when he missed the splash, jfc.

Worried about Beretta, I assume they had the triple threat because he was hurt, his right shoulder didn't look good. Hope it's nothing serious. The show was fun, Los Dos Peligrosos vs Flip & Taguchi was really good and the main was the MOTN, although I think the main from night 1 was slightly better.

Wonder if GLovers vs Young Boiz will happen at SSE or if they save it for Sakura Genesis or even Dominion. Still no news on what the status of the Tag belts is...

Btw, it looks like the Australia shows will be on NJPWWorld:

EDIT: looks like Trent is taking some time off /:

According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla superstar Trent Beretta recently suffered a torn triceps at a PWG event. However, the injury is reportedly not serious enough to cause him to miss any significant ring time.

Beretta worked the NJPW/ROH Honor Rising events over the past few days.
