DeathByChainsaw
So, it seems like general consensus is that 2K15 on PS3 and 360 is a gimped version of 2K14, with just as many glitches as last year's game, but with the additional burden of key pieces being excised and changes to the structure screwing things up. I know that they wanted to give fans something in the usual timeframe they were used to, but these games seem like they've got more issues than ever before, and now have to deal with the bad PR that's coming from the community and reviews. So, I've been curious what people think, do you consider it a mistake for the games to come out before the current gen games came out? Do you think 2K should have released those the same day as the current gen,or possibly later? Or do you think it's not going to affect anyone buying the current gen, because we expected this and the current gen looks amazing so far? Vote in the poll, and let me know here what you think! Ernez
No, peoples going to bitch regardless. This changes nothing...when we see the product on next gen that's when you can give an opinion.

King RyderFan
You only get one chance to make a first impression. That statement fits this poll so well IMO. When Lthey delayed the next-gen versions, the current fen became their first impression, and we saw how much of a shitfest that is. It put me off buying the PS3 edition & threw my PS4 pre-order in danger of bring cancelled. It also left me with a very bad taste of them. IMO, they should have rhrown all their guns at this game, get as many names, large and small, put 110% into all their modes, creation suite included, let the community manager do his job and answer the tough questions instead of telling him just to dodge them & say corporate bullshit, and made a point out of NOT pissing the fans off. They don't have a reputation to fall back on, so they shouldn't be trying to scam the fans.

GameGodOfAll
I won't vote because neither option is true imo. They NEED to keep releasing last gen, but they should not phone it in so damn obviously like they did this year.
JcZ15
I think it was for starters, to me it seems like bad PR move to not only release it first on last gen, but to not release any real info and videos. Now everyone who has last gen, been posting video of entrances, finishers, CC, and the showcase mode. Once they said the last gen would come out first they should of started the entrance and finishers countdown like they have the last few years. It feel as a company it would be better for them to release all the videos than have people online do it. As a person buying new gen 2K15 I hope besides the DLC and the Career Mode that there are other things only for new gen. I know next year they will probably be no last gen release, but I really hope 2K sports smarts up and puts in things that was in the last few games and the whole CC which I honestly still do not understand is better. Hey they have a whole year after Nov. My one only thing I will say was that people do forget they wanted to wait, develop it more and release it around WM time. Not sure who made the call to rush it, but it seems that is just what it was rushed.

They still would have sold with people like me who wanted the game for both systems as well as people who couldn't/wouldn't upgrade for whatever reason. diddydeadman
It's made me think twice to be honest. I am going to buy the game but I'm going doing so with the knowledge that some of my favourite aspects have been taken out. I didn't expect custom themes in current gen. Up until today we didn't even have a music player. As for taking the rest out. Sorry designer has been glitched for a while now. Not sure why they took out create a finisher. If I expect these to be eliminated from current gen I can't be disappointed. As for hurting sales? I don't think it will. I think it will however hurt trust in future releases of this series. CROSS-Out
Lets put in the simplest way possible while still explaining. In the wrestling world, to fans, the first impression is almost everything. If something sucks THAT badly when it appears, chances are only a total repackaging saves its ass. That is what 2K has missed here. Right now, the last gen version of 2K15 is our first impression, and they have royally screwed the pooch on it. All they had to do was re-release 2K14 with a roster update and some new stuff to wet the appetites of last gen players to get new gen, instead they bent them over and used them like a skinny nerd in prison. There is NO justification for the removal of things on last gen, whatsoever. I have not seen a single argument for it that I am willing to even entertain the idea of accepting. 2K might as well have put a giant middle finger on the box art for the last gen because that's all they're getting with this. And "who's got NXT" mode? More or less a lazy reskin of 30 years of wrestlemania, down to the menu style. I'm looking forward to the next gen, because i'm sure that's where all the work has been put, but all fans SHOULD be pissed off at 2K with this, because they need to be shown that it isn't okay. There first impression sucks, end of story.
ThreeG
It's not too bad IMO since they didn't hype it up at all, and it was pretty obvious it was just 14 with new skins. So, it gives the people who haven't moved to next gen something to play until they do. Most people who are die hard WWE gamers were smart enough to save up and get an xbox one or PS4 as they knew thats where all the good stuff would be. It's lesser than 2K14 in my opinion.

Pretty much. I feel bad for the more casual players, or the kids without money but still want the best you can get though. 2K basically ran off cackling like a damn vaudeville villain when it came time to support them. ThreeG
I just hope they don't waste their time making old gen games for 5-6 years like THQ did with PS2 games. Maybe one or two more years then retire that gen.

Maybe one or two more years then retire that gen. Agreed, but even then they need to put forward more of an effort than this, because this was just pathetic and insulting to be honest. Especially as a first impression, this has gotten me about as mad as the 2011 400+ move removal.

It's not really a first impression when what they're about to release isn't the same game gameplay wise. And yes, they do have a reputation to fall back on. They're 2k sports, they have a very good reputation to fall back on. Plus most aren't buying for both consoles so the people that are buying only for new gen are not going to care about what's going on with last gen. 2k isn't catering to the small percentage of people who are buying the game for both last gen and new gen. It is their first impression cosidering it came out first. If they wanted PS4/Xbox One to be their first inpression, they shouldn't have delayed them to be behind the last gen games. No one was expecting the last gen versions to be on par with next gen. They just simply expected a roster update with no stupid removals or restrictions. 2HQ tried to scam people with their sneaky removals. For people like me who only really play the wrestling games, 2K does not have a reputation to fall back on. While you are right most people aren't buying for both gens, it doesn't make it right for last grn users to be screwed over like this. If we let them think they can get away with screwing last gen over like this, imagine what they'll do to next gen in a few years time. To say people who only buy for next gen only care for next gen is generalising. Several members here who are only buying for next gen are pissed off over this as well. You're right thry shouldn't be catering to people on both gens, but they should be catering to the people who have no prior experience with them before WWE 2K15 & thus trying to make a good first impression. This is almost a hard-learned lesson for all last genners that it's time to upgrade, but surely a better way to do that would have been to be next gen only, and give last genners a reason to want the new machines/more justification for picking one up. ksdixon
Its basically what THQ gave us for 5 years and we all bought that shit up. Indeed we did, but there was one very specific difference. Whilst the gameplay or match listings got stale or worse under THQ, the create modes always got better each game. since 2009 they added create a wrestler new attire slots, then different hair for different attires, 100 caw slots, create a logo, story, finisher/more finisher positions/special move (sig and fin), universe mode, create a ring/then arena including stage, edit a belt/then create a belt. Generations
I think they made a mistake releasing a last gen version in general. Sure, it's more money for them...but let's be honest about how bad the game looks. Sometimes taking a dip in income for a year is the better way to go. King RyderFan
Its basically what THQ gave us for 5 years and we all bought that shit up. No it isn't. 07 was exactly the same on both gens, the 360 recieved custom themes while online was dropped on PS2 in 08. PS3 got custom themes, both (at the time) next-gen consoles got DLC while the PS2 got jack shit in that delartment in 09. 2010 was when the PS2 just became a roster update. Nome of the CAW improvements, several 09 models were kept while THQ shifted their main focus to 360 & PS3. 2K should have used this principle fir the transition period going on now. Gradually drop support for the older gen over time. Don't stivk a finger up to next gen like they did in thrir first game on the series.
