I started playing the N64 AKI wrestling games for the first time...

Honestly, I don't understand the appeal. I know I'm late to the party, but people praise these games like they're the second coming (while putting down the PlayStation games). I understand that there are some nifty features, like the edit mode / costume change. But I hated the spirit system in WCW vs. The World, and even now, it seems rather tedious. Then you add in the constant rope breaks in the championship modes (Ultimo Dragon's running power bomb finisher).

WCW Revenge was the first game I owned from that series and it was just an absolute blast playing that, Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy at that time..Noticing all the improvements and brand new editions from one game to the next made it that much more special. Such as:

Going from the very limited customazation options in Revenge to being able to edit, clone or create your own character in Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy.

All the movesets and taunts from the previous games being added each year. Making dream matches happen.

Championship matches going from being 1 player story mode only (except for tag) in Revenge to being available able to create your own to defend against friends in Mania 2000 and No Mercy.

The editions of the Ladder and Steel Cage. Unlocking so much awesome Stuff.

I think that's really what everybody who played it at that time enjoyed about it to be honest. So it's probably not going to be just as fun for someone'd just picking it up for the first time so many years later in a time where so many more advanced PS2, PS3 and eventually PS4 options are available to you.
